I can't be the only one who is sick and tired of reading what Tom thinks every week.

Today he is backing Adam Yates over losing his number 2 shirt, calling it disrespectful.

Yes, i know he is a fan but he isn't Mr. Port Vale.

He moved on.

We have moved on.

 

In a few years time i will be delighted to hear his opinions in the local newspaper. But not weeks after he left for a rival club to get more money.

I wouldn't say it's annoying me at all but it is very weird to be reading them the summer that he's moved on, and I can't see Bury fans being over the moon about it either.

I think his time is past for writing for the Sentinel. It's nothing to do with him now and backing a player who is, whichever way you look at, in the wrong is not helpful. As an employee you get told what to do and Yates has been given the number 16 so that's it. Simples.

I can see why Yates might be miffed, but I can also see why Page has done it. Yates is a pro and should behave like one, and at least not whinge like that in public. He's done himself no favours.

Pope has failed to mention that Yates has never played at a higher level than this and in reality should be thank full he's playing league one football at this stage in his career. Let's be fair, he won't be here next season so perhaps Page could of let him keep it. Pope shouldn't have his little dig at our manager in the local rag though, he's a fan like all us so should have the same influence we do (saying this I love the pair of them).

I agree. I think it would be different if he was a retired player but it's not on while he's still playing - and for a rival team too.

Firstly what the hell has it got to do with Tom anymore. Pass comments on your team as a supporter yes, but he shouldn't be trying disrespect his former manager.

And secondly as regards Yates, it's Simple if he was offered £90k a week to go and sign for another club would he moan if he was offered a different number?? Ok his feelings might of been hurt but they know fore well when they become football players that there is no sentiment in the game and are happy to sign up to that. If they don't like it, go do a 12 hour shift on New Look or summat, or perform at an higher standard to keep your number.

Pope is obviously attached to his number 11 but if he'd been offered £50 more a week to wear 13 would he have said no?
