With Spanish teams it depends on the importance of the match. My team Espanyol has an excellent away following for the 2 nearest games Villarreal and Zaragoza.Espanyol only get 150 tickets for Barça and it's very rare we are allowed in until at least 20 mins after kick-off also the Police are incredibly heavy handed so most supporterts just don't go Some teams like Betis have a very large fanbase outside of Seville. When you see Barça or Real Madrid fans at away matches they are usually from the same area where the match is being played in. The average away support at Espanyol is usually about 20/50 on a par with Crewe.

Also remember a lot of games are on a Sunday or Saturday night and Madrid is 7 hours drive from here. People want to go but it's just not practcal.

It's a shame there weren't a few. Howjy04 and myself could have given it the old Castilian lingo, courtesy of the likes of Pedro Rouse and Ernie Ball, if given half an oportunidad.;)
