I think another good idea is doing something similar to what the ***** up the road do. Issue everyone with a membership card which can be loaded as a season ticket each season or just individual matches, that can either be done online, over the phone going into the club shop etc. What does everything think about that?

The pub idea is good because it will reduce match day que's and get more people into tommy cheadles and the crown, but i dont think its something that will last.

The card system also shows the regular attenders who are entitled to tickets for games such as Crewe etc.

And it could also be used as a reward card depending how much you spend on the club in the shop on tickets etc. I personally think it would be a great idea, and it would reduce costs year to year re-issuing everyone with new cards. Yes you would have to replace lost ones but still in time it would save abit of money and at the same time making everyone feel valued.

I think that is the best thing the club could do, to be honest. It's simple and also ties into the idea of building up a database with details of the fans on it (the club would simply need to transfer the details of everyone with a card into a database). Then they'd not only solve some issues with queuing but also have a large mailing list that they could contact with promotions etc.

If they are photocards, it also goes a long way to stopping any touting or multiple people using a card for entry.

The queues at the turnstiles aren't really a problem. Even when there's a long queue you move fairly quickly.

It's still a pain in the delightful Burslem micro-climate which is colder and wetter than anywhere this side of the Outer Hebrides. My major gripe with the match day experience is the segregated turnstiles, it's ridiculous that we have to queue when those on match day tickets just walk in. Seriously who thought halving the number of turnstiles ST holders can use is a good idea- especially as everything scans the same way!?!

Always found it strange that down the bottom entrance of the Paddock, there's 1 ST entrance and 2 matchday ticket only entrances, yet most who buy a ticket will enter from the top near the office...

Good initiative from the club.

If there proves to be a demand, why not look into a small remote ticket machine?

Good shout.

I also like the idea of a membership card which would work with alternative retail outlets to enable fans to purchase tickets and avoid the potential for touting / banned fans breaching the system.

The cost of the membership card could be passed on to the fan but negated by accompanying / endorsed third party benefits and incentives to utilise in every day life similar to the service that was offered to the club a couple of years ago.
