Just to play devil's advocate, is there any chance we can give the new forwards a few competitive games before we pass judgement on whether they are any good or not?

 

Yeah, records for other clubs probably give an indication, but there's numerous times a player with a poor record at one club has a completely different one at another. After all, I would hope our midfield and wings create a lot more chances than the Yeovil midfield (even with Sam Foley in it) did last season.

 

It's surely what they do in a Vale shirt when the season starts that counts.

I am actually quite positive about this signing, in a weird way.

 

If someone said we're signing an ex championship 25 year old forward , you would all be wetting your selves. He had played as a winger mainly for yeovil hopefully we get the best out of him.

 

Agree with Nick though, we still need another defender...maybe not three but at least one other Centre back . As much as a liability dicko is, he isn't going to be dropped as he's captain.

I think with this signing it is clear that Page wants to go with one up front and Doods or AJ just behind

 

I cant see us signing another striker now BUT in reality Inniss is the one we are all waiting for,if it is a dead duck then please just say so,so we can all move on

Work in Leeds with a Bradford fan and he said Leitch-Smith was Yeovil's best player in both games against them last season and scored at Valley Parade.

Think he deserves a chance and the backing from every single Vale fan.

How many proven League One goalscorers are available for free on our reduced budget? Just because they have/haven't scored goals at their last club doesn't mean they will/won't score at Vale. Look at Torres' Liverpool record compared to his Chelsea record. Look at Pope's & Sodje's record before Vale. Look at Falcao's entire career scoring record before Man Utd. Previous history doesn't mean a thing.

 

We might end up playing a style of football that suits AJ's attributes and he may well flourish.

Exactly, besides it's a 12 month deal so if it dosent work then oh well, probably not on huge wages anyway.
