How's that fall happened? I would have said no chance on the face of it, but if Luton have got him on trial then we should be looking at him surely. Depressingly luton probably pay better wages, but we're a league 1 behemoth ....................... erm ....

If we start the season without a recognisable striker who's going to do at least what Pope did last season, then we're screwed. That's the bare bones of it. We only just survived last term and we've just lost our main established goal threat. To go with untested loanees is throwing the dice, if that is the case but I wouldn't be surprised to see a good replacement before the deadline. It's been said before, but strikers would have been my first priority after knowing Pope was leaving. Hey ho there's time yet.

I think that's spot on. I wouldn't be surprised if it was an experienced permanent and a younger loanee.

Then that would leave a decent mix -

Dodds as withdrawn forward with Foley also able to play there

Permanent bloke as focal point of attack with Campion as reserve (hopefully pushing to replace him)

Loanee, Kapend and (at a push) Daniel as pacy subs to bring on when opponents are tiring

If we bought in at least one good striker who's realistically going to fill pope's shoes then that doesn't look too bad - considering the rest of the squad looks ok. But it's a tense time until we know who's coming in. I think it will make the difference between bottom 4 / safety spots / mid-table.

I don't care where players come from as long as they add to the squad.

They'll add wages regardless of talent. That's the only thing guaranteed at the foot of league 1.

Probably due to the fact they've just sold a player for £180k and have sold over 2,000 more Season Tickets than we have.

Get Ched Evans in and don't worry what a couple of high-horse sanctimonious pillo x think about it - and for each of the 5 that wont attend, 50 more fans will replace them when he bags a shedload of goals. He's a family man now, and shouldn't be judged on his past for which he has been punished - and it is more likely he was always innocent.

It won't happen. We would be looking for a new sponsor if we signed Evans so it would be a very expensive signing.
