Good luck Dave. It's fantastic that this great race has been re-introduced to the calendar. I've not ran a marathon since 2002 but already thinking of entering this next year. My advice is always run in any shade that is available and take little amounts of fluid on at very regular intervals. It's going to be ****** hot! Good Luck again!

Any fellow OVF'ers taking part in this tomorrow? It'll be my first ever marathon, my number is 861. Look out for me andgive me a wave!

And it seems that someone deems this post is worth of a thumbs down? Bizarre.

Am I correct in thinking the route comes down Trent Valley Road then down James Street, Dave? James Street will murder your knees running down it but be thankful you don't have to run up it! Good luck, mate.

It certainly does go down James st roughly 25 miles in! Luckily I've plenty of practice on it as I only live 2 streets up from it. It's a killer.

My better half walks up James Street instead of paying to go to a gym. It's just as beneficial! So where do you live, Dave - Hunter's Way?? We plan to walk up to the Trent Valley/James Street turn to watch.

Great, we'll need all the support we can get around then.

2 streets down from it I should have said! Douglas Avenue is where I live.

How did you get on? I was looking out for a number 861 but must have missed it, unless you were the one dressed in all black kit that shouted up the vale to me, just below the Holden bridge.

Have you moved and sleep under Holden bridge then now? ;)
