I'd be tempted to have Andoh on the bench and bring on for last 20 mins against tiring defences. Also, all being well, with Byron Moore getting a pre-season this year, that will be like signing a new player.

Why should we be offering a player who after 7 years at the club has never nailed down a first team spot. He scored 4 goals last season, 3 against Crawley and one against Colchester. In his last 2 seasons for us, he has 8 goals, not good for a player who people keep saying is the best finisher at the club.

 

He too often goes missing in games and if he was to leave Vale I don't think there would be many if any league 1 teams coming in for him.

Given the wide variety of fans choice of who should go and who should stay I doubt he will be hailed a hero by all at the retained list unveiling. Whoever is on the list will be his choice and the first indication of his vision of the future... at least he wont be pulling his hair out at what the fans think :D

If Page has got the job then pretty much it will be the same story, Dodds, Williamson, Birchall offered deals. Also dont forget even if we offer contracts to players they may reject and move to other clubs..

I disagree. When Dodds has played as a second striker he's been good and during our bad run was one of the better players.

 

We were actually better when Pope was out of the side injured. Our best period of the season

 

We can't survive in that sort of formation with Pope scoring 9 league goals and Dodds 4, we need a combined figure of far more than that for the main striker alone.

I disagree. The squad is a mile off. We're conceding goals for fun and we are very short of quality up front.

Agreed, keeper wise with Neal and Boot we are fine and in midfield we possibly need another body or two but defensively aside from one player we are woeful as we are upfront.

 

For me we need at least;

1xLB (if Page doesn't want McGivern)

 

1/2xCM

 

1xRW

3xCF
