Do you trust the board?

Maybe the question should be 'Do you trust the board less than you trust xxx where xxx is any potential new owner' For instance, I had trust issues with Mike Newton, which have been proved right in that he was only willing to put £500k in and Mo said he'd put in more than twice that amount - so Newton's offer must have been inadequate.

Trust is a relative concept. I didn't trust Margaret Thatcher but I'd have trusted Hitler less if he had been around at the same time.

Yes that's it - about the same as Hitler

It's not as simple as that.

Have the board always acted totally truthfully, been 100 per cent open, and performed marketing miracles - NO. In a lot of instances, they have done the best they can and the argument is whether this is enough, or good enough. Every businessman tells some lies, spins things a bit, it's wrong but a fact of life.

The motive is crucial here - if it is to fight off a threat that they see as seriously damaging the future of the club, then that would be quite different to anyone taking actions to benefit themselves at the expense of their club. In the abscence of any proof of wrongdoing, the wild allegations of fraud, racism and suchlike that fly around from a few people on here are out of order.

It doesn't worry me if a positive spin is put on the number of season ticket sales or something similar in what is a propaganda war. But if say, the vale were to have a cuptie against a top double-winning Premiership club, and the gate was returned at 5000 less than the true number, with the excess cash spirited away in biscuit tins and never seen again, that is something to be very concerned about, of course that would never happen though, would it?

**** off Glenn.

The contradictory statements we have witnessed over a long period of time are enough to destroy any trust placed in those in charge.

But actions speak louder than words.

The underhanded way in which they have contrived to secure their own future was surely the final straw?

Exactly Tone, the final straw for many

Not every business has over 900 shareholders who are also customers. Therefore two most important things are accountability and representation. If that doesn't exist then the directors should move over for someone that realises his/her duty to the shareholders and fans. It is not just a question of whether the board have done their best it's also necessary for them to explain what they are doing and why. It is also necessary for them to find out what the fans opinions are and represent them in the boardroom. Otherwise they are merely using the investments made by the fans to maintain their own position and interests. Alternatively the board should buy out the fans and then they can do whatever they want.

I think this is a valid point unless this board can ever regain the trust of the shareholders and all supporters they are doomed to faluire i belive the penny may just begin dropping at vale park

If they had two to rub together they might drop one.

No the question was..."do you "Bea Smith" trust the Board?"

"Mike Newton...was only willing to put is £500K" which is more than this "cartel" of parasites put together and Newton had an HSBC account with a million in it earmarked for Port Vale.......Bratt got to play Chairman/CEO for £38,000 and has taken over £250,000 out.

Mo Chaudry wants to put 5 million into Port Vale with ambitions of Academy Status and a return to Championship football...imagine the chances and the sheer luck and good fortune that a local multi-millionaire worth over 60 million wants to put 5 million into the club....it is like a lottery win...many

Championship clubs want to bite off Chaudry's hand....this lot reject it.

Anyway following a vote of no confidence and the fact that over 90% want

them gone the "Starve 'Em Out" campaign through the season ticket boycott

will mean that they have to stand aside and let the club move forward or it

will be administration and with an offer on the table the Directors would be liable for millions.
