Absolutely stonking gig! I was worried that my high hopes wouldn't be met, but they were blown out of the water. Couldn't have asked for a better set list. I presume the security was because of the amount of middle aged men with quiffs who stalk him. Also thought meat is murder was brilliant. Role on slash!

Is this yet more sexual innuendo?

I think I remember that when The Smiths played the Victoria Hall in the 80s, someone threw some sausages (ironically with Meat Is Murder scrawled on them) at Morrissey and they hit him in the mouth. Maybe that's what the security were searching for!? (There are a million and one jokes to be said about that, pleeeeeease don't try any!)

EDIT: Yes, it did happen.

Just a few lines into "Meat Is Murder", the final song of the main set, someone threw sausages on stage. This obviously angered Morrissey who rushed off stage, leaving the rest of the band to finish the song as an instrumental. When he returned shortly after for the first encore, he announced "There's always some charming intellectual who has to throw things... they actually paid 5 pounds to throw things... very clever...". He then proceeded with the concert as if nothing had happened.

1) Thought he was dire on the telly at Glastonbury -that voice - all gone , man

2) he's got a bit of meat on him himself now - must be three times as heavy as he was in the early days. if he banned his own fat, he'd save the stage a bit of mither

Far better gig than glasto. Though I thought he was one of the few decent acts on alongside a load of trash. I mean...chipmunk at glasto! Mo wonder no one tries to jump the fence anymore!
