I remember the program a few years ago on a Friday night 10:30pm called Central Weekend. Always good for a laugh. (Nicky Campbell amongst others often hosted it)

Topic one week was vegetarianism and one of the 'panel' was Mad O'Rourke (who looked a bit like Grandad off 'Bread') of the 'Mad O'Rourke pie factory' pub chain - a great establishment in Tipton known for its Cow Pie and real ale. He professed to eat 'Raw Meat'

Immediately they switched to a member of the audience who said 'I've been a vegetarian all my life and it ha sdone me no harm!. Screen showed pale shallow faced chap with straight straw like hair. - I choked on my glass of beer.

Questions - Was vegetarianism ever discussed/known about/practised in Roman, Tudor, the dark ages etc. When did it come to the attention of the masses?

how is this even a news story?!

i'm a meat eater and have been to 100's of gigs, do you know how many meat based products i have bought at shows? ****ing none! (with the exception of festivals - which these shows are not)

if you generally go to shows that even sell hot dogs in the venue, let alone buy them, then you have bigger issues to worry about

like how not to be an absolute square
