Yes thère is, jon kapend caught the eye, but the one that as got the real class, speed and pin point centres from the wing and in to the box, is our number 7, can't think of his name hadn't got a team sheet.

you mean enoch andoh?

I agree.

You can't just throw these lads into the first team. Most of them are not good enough and several will be let go in a few weeks time.

Leave it up to the manager to judge. You can ruin them completely if you're not careful. The gulf is huge.

But it's nice to see some sunlight in this gloomy season.

"It's testament to the amount of money that Norman has invested out of the first team playing budget that we've got the best reserve team in the league." (Santa)

That is true, though I suspect many would rather have a better 1st team and a 'crapper' reserve team !!

The value of a reserve team is shown 1) when players can come in for injured/suspended 1st teamers, and play well enough so that the standard does not noticeably drop, and 2) by the number of young players who later become 1st team regulars.

If these happen, then Smurf will know he is getting some value for his money.

Five nil thrashing of the Shrews, Superb football by the Vale youngsters, some real talent among them.

How about a lap of honour from the players and those associated with coaching / picking etc. of this team before the home match against Preston or even the Fleetwood game?

It may not seem an important honour to win, but credit is due and this would be a nice way to celebrate a modest but very welcome achievement.

Yes a very good idea, it would be nice to see it, the last day of the season at half time.
