You see volleys week in week out, you see goals of great skill week in week out .... when was the last time you saw one scored from that distance?

 

It's a shame it was a Sjokie but it was the most audacious goal I have seen in just short of 60 years watching footie.

 

The keeper was miles of his line and Adam, who is known for having a decent peg, was accurate enough to just about get it over the keeper who was scrambling back. Great goal but you're going way over the top.

One of the best keepers in the world is beaten from 64 yards & no one criticises Courtois. I wonder how many of our fickle fans would have slaughtered Neal or Johnson had it happened during a Vale match?

Great goal of its type, perhaps the best of its type in Premiership history, futrthest out of any not scored from a goalkick.

If you go to different types of goal, you've got to consider Gigg's one against Arsenal where he beasted the whole defence or that bullet from Yeboah for Leeds. The Arsenal have scored some magnificent pass and move goals involving about ten players as well.

Probably nobody as it was a wonder goal. Every keeper stands off their line when the ball is there.

Superb goal. I'll be honest I looked away as Adam picked up the ball and the bloke behind me pretty much slapped me on the back of the head mid-flight and I turned round to watch the keeper scampering as it hit the back of the net. I listened last night to some so-called experts doing down the goal as in their eyes it was a long ball punt, one of them then went on to announce that the best goal in Premier League history was Beckham's against Wimbledon Not many players could have executed that which is what makes it so special, if media darling Stevie-G had scored it there'd be a 1 hour Sky Sports special showing tonight in his honour.

 

Some great goals this weekend it has to be said.........

 

Please don't compare Charlie Adam and Steven Gerrard in regards to anything. It would be like comparing Robert Downy Jr. to Robert De Niro.

I had just walked into the lounge room when our local sports programme was showing the goals from the weekend.

 

You could see Charlie had spotted moaning Minnie's goalie was way off his line and the canny Scot coolie slotted his brilliant goal. I reckon that goal alone was worth the £5m Stoke paid Liverpool :D
