Amazing how two premier league clubs that are local to each other in an FA Cup quarter final can get away with one man and his dog style a rewarding yet Port Vale v Barnsley is seen by the police as a major potential incident.

 

Came out of Bulls Head pre match for that game and was advised by police I couldn't walk down my normal route straight on to the George Hotel and cross road there but would have to walk up to the main road and walk that way. As Boslem is not yet an official police State I went my usual way. But you young uns need to be careful about the loss of your personal freedom of choice.

In my opinion, the only reason the red got yacobs sending off wrong is because it should of been a straight red, regardless of whether he had a previous yellow.the ref, in a split second view, would of seen him jump in two footed. Villa could obviously appeal but I don't think it will be rescinded myself.

Grealish play acted which is a yellow card offence.

For what it's worth (I'm no expert!), I was expecting trouble against Barnsley; they've long had more than enough problem fans, and the growing reputation of some of our own fans acted as something of a magnet. Having said which, I walked freely around the town unimpeded; but then I'm always mistaken for Brad Pitt....

Has anyone noticed that a young Watford fan is critical in hospital fighting for his life after being ambushed on his way to the rail station following Saturday's game? Will Wolves and their thugs ever be different? Wish you well lad.

I was at an FA Cup sixth round match in 1974. There was a nasty pitch invasion, players in danger. The FA decided the match had to be replayed. Will be interesting to see what happens here.
