You have a short memory as 6th from bottom of L2 in 2008/9 was far worse. A back 5 of Anyon, Stockley, Prosser, Slater, Collins conceded 66 in the league.

We've conceded 45 this season in 30 games. That's 1.5 per game. 16 games to go at that rate we'll beat 66 conceeded by 3 goals. **** defence and has been for the past 2 years.

The defence is rubbish and it is picked by a manager who was a decent defender himself in his playing days.

Some folks on here think that he could be a decent manager, MAYBE BUT A LONG, LONG WAY TO GO.

A lot of us have been saying so for a while. Its been a weak point in the team for two years. Many have asked many times why it can be so bad with Adams (when he was here) and Page both running the team?It shocking and looks like it will continue to be the same.

Home attendance will start to drop off soon.

Just consider that Vesili has been our best defender so we move him to right back. We play Robertson and Duffy as centre backs and as a pairing they have been a disaster previously and are now. Then we have Dickinson who must be in the running for the award of the worst left back in the league (but he tries hard so never mind!!!).

This is simply pathetic. I know we have rubbish defenders but we did have the option of bringing some in during the transfer window but we didn't.

The last few matches have convinced me that Page has a long, long way to go and perhaps he should learn his trade at a much lower league and then come back as a better manager.

No more cheap options Smurf! We deserve better!

Can we send Page out on loan with the team he goes to paying his full wages? Or will he say that he don't want to go out on loan?;)

Failing that then get someone from the club shop to pick the team.

Duffy wasnt it?

Every one the Vale end thought it was Veseli?

All I can say is that we were ten times better than the mob that lost there last season. They were the better side but a number of their fans on the local radio afterwards thought they had the rub of the green as well and we were one of the better sides they'd played. I know that's no consolation after the result but it does put things in perspective a bit.

Our defensive problems seem to go on and on despite having two defenders and a goalkeeper making up our management team. When you think though that two of them are Glover and Grew (who between them have two of the worst records of any manager, acting or permanent, in the long history of the club) perhaps it's not that surprising. It simply isn't good enough and we need a good clear out at the end of the season. Just hoping in the meantime that we can do enough to stay up.

May be cheap now but will cost in the long run. PAGE OUT.

We're now starting to look over our shoulders. Two points off the bottom four and most below us having games in hand.

It's obvious defence is a problem so why isn't someone doing something about it? Veseli back to central defence in place of Robertson would be a start, and McGivern to come in for Dicko. Possibly keep Duffy - although if there's a quality loan signing out there let's have a go - and while we're at it, a right back we can depend on.

We're becoming the Aston Villa of L1 and need to wake up and smell the coffee.

I have to be honest and say I've really lost patience now. For me the likes of Duffy, Dickinson, Birchall and probably even Lines and Brown can go now. We need an injection of need ideas as the team looks totally sterile, and has no pace or purpose. I can't comment on tonight as I'd have needed a six-figure sum to tempt me to go there after Saturday, but the management seriously need to buck their ideas up and fast. It's quite obvious we can't defend, and we all know a goal will come eventually as 2 clean sheets in 35 tells it own story, so why the Hell set the team up so negatively and get a stranglehold on the game??? How many times this season have we gone in at the break a goal behind?? We must be in double figures, in fact it wouldn't surprise if it wasn't close to half our games. We will never get anywhere near to the play-offs with that approach.
