he came on against crewe, (along with daniel and lines), the game changed completely, it is not always about his goals , the team going forward changed, we looked dangerous , yes we deserved a point. tom is a vale fan, we are vale fans, norman understands that , his desire and passion is plain to see(the whole team is looking a more cohesive unit).surely he has to stay , *** come on............

that post says it all. Cut where you will Norman but Pope needs to be kept at the Vale. While most of our team go missing on occasions Popey never stops giving his all.

BBC Radio Sheffield's Andy Giddings reports on Twitter that Barnsley boss Danny Wilson has told them that a deal to sign Port Vale striker Tom Pope looks "dead in the water".

It wouldn't be in Popes interest to go anywhere today. He knows he's guaranteed a deal here so it's no risk to wait to see all his options in the summer. He's at a decent age to easily see out a 3 year contract with someone.

He'll be a very attractive free for a lot of clubs in the summer.

Fair comment, KS, except that we are talking about the possibility of our best striker leaving. The sort of changes that would be beneficial are those that improve the squad. If we can afford a striker better than Popey, that's fine by me, although it still takes time for a new player to fit in.

Remember what happeend when we sold Andy Jones ;)

Barnsley I would doubt but I'd expect a bit of interest from clubs at the bottom of the Championship.

They have one last throw of the dice to survive. Millwall? Blackpool? Wigan? He might be worth 100k if he scored 5-6 goals and kept them up.

I hope I'm wrong.
