so page is frustrated, not half as frustrated as us long suffering supporters, it's about time that a few of our developing players were thrown in the mix, they can't be as useless as some of the regulars, your jobs on the line pagey or don't you give a ****.

I think disappointment is an understatement... I'm fuming after today.. The team showed no passion what so ever

Hardly fair. it was one of those games where you are not going to get any luck, any decisions, and ultimately any points despite being the better side for long periods. Much as it hurts to say it, Crewe have to get some credit for a smash-and-grab defensive display where they rode their luck and got 3 points. It will always happen once or twice a season, sadly for us it was against Crewe both times.

I am sure RP will learn from it, and if anything we started a bit too fast and then gave the game away in the critical period 15 minutes each side of half time, finishing as the stronger team but not managing to get a goal.

A more even tempo might have helped, and everyone will have ideas about who should not have played, but keeping a winning team seemed reasonable at the start.

Pope is back now, and perhaps Vale will react as they did after the Coventry game and surprise everyone with a renewed late play-off bid and shake away the disappointment of today.

Pope being back showed that the only tactic we will have is a lump it up
