Does anyone else remember the time we played in Red and Black Stripes at Hartlepool ? Lovely shirt, only spoiled by the Man City badge on it !!

We needed a strip, and the then secretary phoned around his friends and borrowed Man City's second strip.

It was a rum old doo as we came out of Harlepools social club and no one knew who the ******s were in red and black .

I think it is superb, and will make an effort to buy one even if it means a couple of beans on toast dinners.

Not many colours we haven't had - this may shock some, but red shouldn't be a total non-starter if it were the dark rich red of that crest badge shown a few months ago, possibly n almost claret-like red and thin black stripes might be tried.

I would also like to see a completely amber shirt with a big black V under the neck, we had a white one with a big black V 80s I think, but amber with black V in a few years time when the black/amber stripes have been gone awhile.

Vale fans will moan about anything. We've been told the shirts clash, we've got a new shirt, if you want to buy it then buy it, if not stop moaning as it will make the club a little bit of revenue and dosent affect you!

Personally I think its a bit too basic for my preference so I won't buy one but I won't criticise the club or the FA.

 

I can't see our new kit suppliers letting us use last season's 3rd kit made by another supplier though! So this is a good alternative particularly for those who want to buy one as they know it may be used by the players next season too.

There is no truth in the rumour that I'm choosing not to remember it, or that I actually helped build the Old Rec. and it was named me but they dropped the w prefix and the k suffix. :)

That GMB logo looks too big to me. Isn't there a rule about how big the sponsor's logo can be?

 

Now I've seen all the other pics it looks fine. It just looked big on the first one I saw.

Was it the Huddersfield game where we played in their red shirts and our black shorts and socks?

 

I think what was hanging off was the gaffer tape they put to cover up the names on the back of the shirts.
