Imo Dikko should be relieved of his Captain duties. Give the armband to Popey when he's back.What do you think?

What would be the point in giving it to popey at the minute when he isnt fit to play.

 

Imo Dicko shouldnt be captain and shouldnt be in the first 11, but Pope cant be made captain yet. If a decision had to be made at this minute Id be looking at Duffy/Brown.

I agree but sometimes the captaincy affects the individuals own form. Dicko was a far better player last term when he wasn't the captain. With this in mind it could be worth a try.

I absolutely agree but he could also take it as a knock and it's a big call. If I had to guess, I'd say Dicko was of strong enough character to take any decision Pagey made with good grace and realise it was a decision made for the best of the team as a whole.

 

Who replaces him is an interesting decision. For me it would have to be Michael Brown for two reasons, 1- his pedigree and the respect the other players must have for him & 2- I don't want Popey being distracted from the task at hand

Pope said himself on radio Stoke commentary that he was offered the captaincy before Dicko. He doesn't want it. Brown, Duffy or O'Connor for me if it has to change. I do agree with the OP that it has affected Dicko negatively, however I would hazard to guess that taking it from him will be a bad move to make, it could severely dent his morale, and that of squad member that agree with his appointment as captain.

 

In terms of Dicko I would also argue that his form has picked up of recent weeks.
