You would imagine the injury he had is healed otherwise it would seem daft playing the lad in the reserves.

Clearly appears to be the conditioning side that needs working on and I accept that League One games will be at higher intensity and physical stress than the reserves.

That being said he had been creating and scoring for fun it seems so there must be something there in terms of talent.

Maybe we are keeping him under wraps until a permanent deal is done.

While I'm happy to see that he's making an impact in the Reserves, I also think the club are entirely right not to rush him.

I would expect there's a lot of difference in tempo between a first-team game and a reserve one.

We've been told his fitness isn't there yet and none of us (well, unless some of you have hidden talents) are qualified football physios, so we don't know what his fitness is like right now. But he has been injured a lot recently, so the last thing the club want to do is rush him into the first-team only for him to break down with another injury.

I think we need to trust the club on this, they will be getting professional advice from the physios as to when he's ready and then (hopefully) he can make an impact in the first-team.

But I personally would rather see a fit Campion come on and challenge for a first-team place than we see a Walsh/Matthews situation where a talented player is rushed back only to be setback again through injury.

Excellent post Rob though he does seem to be showing all the right signs.

Is he any less match fit than N'Guessan was when he made his debut for us?

Possibly not, but Campion came with a reputation of being injury prone, and missing lots of games because of this. So maybe the Club is right to take a long term view on this and get him fit enough to compete at a professional level in the game. He certainly sounds like a real prospect and must be dying to play for the first team!

Because he's had injury problems with every club he's been with, and this thigh injury has been going on for a long time.

I didn't say he was rushed.

The second point was a more general point, and maybe so, but hes been recovering for a while and is scoring for fun, hes on loan with us, we might as well play the bugger whilst he is here.

If he's got a thigh injury that's keeping him out of the matchday squad what's he doing playing 90 minutes for the reserves every few weeks? If it's core fitness that's his issue and N'Guessan is fitter then he's got a big problem.

Get the bugger on!

He's right Rory is.
