New manager

Employing an experienced manager also has it's dangers.Normally an out of work manager is out of work for one reason,he's ****ed up somewhere.Aspo,Rowett and one of my faves Dean Smith have no such baggage.

Heres a name no one has bandied around - FERGUSON. He's out of work and was supposed to be a decent manager - He doesnt need to be paid because he's a multi millionaire in his own right and might be up for a challange to show that he can manage at every level not just with the fairy footballers. Might be the one last challenge he needs to prove that he is the GREATEST manager of all time. The last GREAT manager managed HARTLEPOOL, Took Derby and Nottm Forrest to be League one champions - and they are each others worst enemies. He even took FOREST to TWO European Cup successes - who else would do that. - And HE was ENGLISH. But Brian did have his flaw - He thought he could manage LEEDS - and everyone one knows that Don Revie was the only person who could ever manage leeds - Before Don Revie Leeds were nothing - After Don Revie - leed are nothing -

I saw Halifax play Macclesfield last week - a cracking game that finished in a one each draw. I was impressed by the standard of football played by both teams also by a central defender for Macclesfield - I think his name was Pilkington. I doubt if Aspin would leave Halifax at this stage. The Macclesfield manager also has Vale connections and has worked wonders with a team in deep financial difficulties.

Don't jump in and think I am defending Bill Bratt as a chairman, I'm not - tell me, Why shouldn't he be heard ?

 

He appointed Adams twice after all, and regardless of what some people may think of him as a Chairman, I'd wager he has some interesting tales and points to make. Far more interesting than your posts, I bet.

What has being ENGLISH and putting random words in CAPITALS got to do with it ? Brian Clough was allegedly an alcoholic who only avoided prison (or at least serious trouble for his misdamenaours) because of his very serious illness. Also allegedly a homophobic bully who some might think contributed to Justin Fashanu's later suicide.

Ferguson ? More chance of getting Joan Ferguson, the Freak from Prisoner Cell Block H, now reborn in the superb Ch 5 seris Wentworth as govnur. Enjoy your TEA.

Would he want to though? Still, not a daft idea by any stretch of the imagination :D

Too many narrow-minded ones in our fan base for it to happen, even without all the other problems.

I don't actually like the man myself, but know deeper down that doesn't matter and if he brought success and style to my club, my personal opinions of his personality should be over-ridden. He would probably be more likely to succeed than any of the other names mentioned, but I can't see it happening unless Robbie Williams suddenly gets interested and finances it for Smurf.

Best other option - well, despite many of our tolerant posters writing off Page before the poor sod has even had a second in the job, if he can get 8 or 9 points more from the horrendously difficult games that follow Barnsley, then he deserves his chance. If not I'd be delighted to see Neil Aspin here as I reckon he would be successful given a little time and some resources.
