I think last night's game was far more important than the one against Chelsea Beechy.Like you said Real were more or less in second gear.Liverpool did ok but even if they had have scored I always felt Real could have scored another.Possiby 2 wins to qualify will be more difficult than people think.Liverpool fans will be asking questions of Brendan if they get turned over by Chelsea.Could turn out to be a bit of a shocker this week.Is Lambert injured Beechy? Not his biggest fan but looking at the alternatives at the moment?

 

No, I just don't think Rodgers likes what he sees from him in training. He's not suddenly turned into a bad player, but playing for a big, big club and for the club you supported as a child brings a far bigger pressure than when he was playing for Southampton. Also, we're not the type of side to play with out and out wingers who will whip crosses in for him to attack, something he excels at. The style of play just doesn't suit either him or Balotelli, but Rodgers should have been intelligent enough to know that himself.

 

The players did better than expected last night and you can't fault the effort or attitude. But I'm not silly or naïve enough to think that Real couldn't have gone up a couple of extra gears had they really needed to.

 

I expect us to give Chelsea a game despite the form books. The rest would have done Gerrard good and hopefully those that were dropped for last nights game will be chomping at the bit to put a performance in.

Like Arsenal thinking that Monreal would in any way make a decent centre-back like last night. :D

 

I know you have injuries but surely a kid in your reserves that's a natural centre-back would even have been a better option?

I know. He should of played Chambers at CB with Mert, and Bellerin at RB..Fortunately it still shouldn't cost Arsenal progressing. Unfortunately, we'll more than likely play Barca, PSG ,Madrid or even Bayern Munich in the knockout stages..

Pellegrini is useless for City. Yes, they won the league last season but that was by the skin of there teeth and with the quality they have they should have walked it. His tactics are awful and I don't think he has a clue what his best 11 is. I can't see him being there next season no matter what they win domestically now, I really can't.

He can defend fine, but he's young and still learning the game, he'll obviously make mistakes.

 

He's been great so far and is looking a far better signing than Luke Shaw is for United, both in terms of performances and value for money. He'll be Liverpool and Spain's left-back for years to come.

 

Don't see it from a defensive point of view, in fact listening to Radio 5 during the Madrid game they constantly referred to his ability going forwards but frailties defensively so the experts agree.

 

Is he a poor mans Leighton Baines? :)
