Winding up order?

The issue for me is that PVFC Ltd, up to the end of last season, was the company that owned the club.

If Norman has restructured, then fine. Bit if he's left creditors along the way, then very bad, potentially.

If Football Clubs could just walk away from their debts and set up Phoenix companies then they'd all be at it.

How would the Football League view it? What is their definition of an 'insolvency event'?

PVFC Limited is the old company of which Paul wildes among others was director.

Port Vale Football Club Limited is Active and has smurf as sole director. Incorporated in April.

Based on this we may have an old company with an old debt (previously traded)...if wildes has been declared Bankrupt It may've prompted HMRC to issue a petition

I think radio stoke have jumped the gun on this yet again. PVFC limited is definitely non trading. It's not a simple as saying the club has been issued a winding up order. If they are wrong then the need to make a massive apology to the fans, the chairman, manager and squad.

if this story is found to be groundless, it would be lazy journalism at best, and squalid at worst. Radio Joke's credibility would take yet another dive and a grovelling apology would definitely be in order. We'll see what happens...

Looking like Lee Has done a massive :opps:

I wouldn't say that yet.

There is a petition by CH to strike off PVFC Ltd at the end of June. Presumably that's because the last set of accounts were 3 months overdue (which will cost Norman £750 I think).

If the company is dormant then fair enough but then there's another thing on CH which confirms that the strike off has been suspended. Either the directors of the company (ie Norman) have objected and wants the company to remain active, or a creditor has objected on the basis they are still owed money.

HMRC obviously believe that they are owed money by the Football Club last season. They served PVFC Ltd with a writ to that effect in May.

The question now is what knock on effect this will have with the newco in the eyes of the Football League.

Blakeman has now tweeted this:

Norman Smurthwaite says the winding up order is against an old company and does not affect the club #PVFC

So, it appears to have been a careless tweet with very little research done and look at the panic it has spread.
