Smurf

This is a thread to counter all the rubbish posted last night by certain posters.

I've stated on a number of occasions that I'm not smurfs biggest fan and that he has made big mistakes in his time with vale, the commercial aspect the biggest of these.

However some of the posts on here last night were embarrassing and downright ridiculous, from the usual culprits.

It looks as though we have pulled off the signing of O'connor, brown and one other, it looks to be a fantastic day for vale fans and this is down to smurf. He's still got parts of his ownership that need addressing but the abuse last night was extremely unfair and today he has proven himself once more. Let's see where the culprits from last night are today....

Well done smurf and up the vale!!

Nice one V593. There is no such thing as a perfect owner of a football club in the lower leagues, Smurf does have his faults but he deserves our backing and patience at least.

I'm still very cautious about him.

Whether he was playing hard ball with MOC in the first place or whether MOC was playing hard ball with him, we'll never know.

Happy that we're getting a side together now though.

I don't get all this smurf bashing , yes he's negative but he puts his money where his mouth is and ultimately it's his club , I think he's done well given the situation we were in .

Add last season's lines and dicko signings to the three today and we are looking good

And tied down for the next couple of years! I agree with allof that pal- the whingers are an absolute embarrassment

Media is obviously not Smurf's strong point but business is & it embarrasses me when people call into question his abilities as a business man which, judging by his successful past, are considerable and far more than the posters who berate him on OVF. Yes he's made some mistakes but saying he never wanted to own a football club in the first place, I believe he's doing a decent job under the circumstances and the least he deserves from us fans is some time and support.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Smurf spent the early days at Vale as a silent partner that Wildes didn't want to involve in decisions apart from bankrolling things. He then took on the whole club by himself and has spent the majority of that time correcting mistakes. (Ticketmaster, Sondico limited addition strip to name a couple) so IMO it is only now that he can start to turn other area's of the club around that would have been priority if it wasn't for the mess he was left with. In short give the bloke a chance to get it right

Smurf will be fully aware of those comments already. Either himself or people around him will have told him.

Even if he put in £100 million into the club, people will still slag him off for not getting the right players or not putting enough in.

Would love to see us higher up the league, but want my Club to be financially sound before we go up the leagues. Too many clubs try to achieve promotions by throwing money at it and failing and then the next two or three seasons struggling.

People need to realise 3,100 season tickets is not enough. Smurf hasn't siphoned monies away from the club and we spent what we make. It's that simple. Do people want a third administration?!?

Third administration looks on the cards
