Agree with not playing Welbeck but think the Gerrard, Henderson partnership works well allowing another central player like Rooney or Ox to push forward more often.

For me England's problems mirror ours, defensive weakness in the full back areas (particularly right back) and in defensive midfield.

I dont think we have a hope if Im being honest... we dont have the skill, class or imagination to worry many teams... It would be nice to see a second win

Who though? The most defensive I can think of is Henderson, we can't play Milner there as he's crap, Wilshire is overrated and lampard is past it. For me it has to be Gerrard and Henderson both sitting quite deep.

Plus we are both poor at defending crosses,England's centre backs for me are very poor at coming round to cover for the full-backs and seem hesitant at moving from central positions.The back four never seem to work as a unit to help cover for each other.

In my view it's important not to lose to Italy as it may just make our qualification from the group very difficult, but not impossible - however that doesn't mean we should sit back and defend by having 10 men stood in our half for 90 minutes. It's a 3-game league and substitutions will be crucial, also crucial will be the need to keep all 11 players on the pitch for 90 minutes.

For me the biggest defensive liabilities for Liverpool were Johnson and particularly Messrs Skrtel, Agger and Sakho rather than Gerrard and Henderson.
