Shuker retiring at end of season

According to Lee Blakeman on Twitter. Sad to see, had a bit of quality and was instrumental in some great wins/goals/moments last season. Also one of those who "played for free" and gave everything when we were in admin. All the best to him in the future.

A massive part of the team at the start of last season and dominated midfielders almost double his size. I remember for me what was his best game for us in the night draw with Crewe a few seasons ago when he played in a free role just behind Rico, they simply couldn't handle him.

According a message on his Twitter account, Shuker is retiring.

It's been announced on the official site that he has retired due to a knee injury.

Hope he gets another job in football (if he wants one).

 

That sort of experience will benefit someone somewhere - not necessarily Vale unless Micky wants him - but 31 is way too young to find yourself out of a job in football.
