who is the bloke that is on the midweek football league show who always wears shirts that are too tight for him so that the buttons are ready shoot off, proper pretentious about everything and thinks he knows it all.

As an aside bring back Andy "take a bow son" Grey and Ian Dark

Do you mean Gary Birtles on Sky?

Ian Darke was on BT Sport the other day. Always been an excellent commentator.

I like Jamie Carragher, if there's one thing you want people like him to do, it's to give some proper insight as an ex-pro, and he does that well, even if it's not always done too articulately.

I guess some will disagree but I cannot listen to Alan Green. He seems to think he's there to get a bee in his bonnet and not to describe the match. He just gets riled at everything and hence it is all about him, not the game. I once heard one game where he spent five minutes moaning about motorway traffic delaying him- is that really what we tune in to listen to?

I also dislike the commentators who bellow excitedly whenever a "famous" player tries a shot. The likes who shout "ROONEY!" or "GERRARD!" at top volume even when they shank a shot wide.

I actually really like the Lee Blakeman/Mick Cullerton combination on Radio Stoke.

That really gets me too; the tone they use implies that cos it's Rooney/Gerrard the shot is bound to go in..very annoying
