Hugill vs PNE

Didn't go the game, but noticed from the highlights there was a bit of needle between him and a PNE defender after his goal? What was this about?

Regardless, in a funny way, I found this quite refreshing - perhaps the arrogance of youth - but more importantly seems to indicate he's prepared to stick up for himself against more experienced centre halves.

Hope Micky starts him Sunday and gives Popey a well-earned rest. Thoughts?

Would like to see Hugill start against Plymouth and rest Pope. Not that Popes done anything wrong, but we've had a lot of games lately. Maybe try a similar line up that beat Crawley. Thought Hugill and Williamson were very dangerous that night.

I think he should keep the shirt against Plymouth, he got his goal against PNE and generally looked far more up for it than Tom.

Tom's gone a bit mardy again because he hasn't scored for a while and needs a bit of a kick up the rear. To much seeking fouls that aren't there at present and his overall workrate has dropped.

Hugill deserves a chance, pope has played a lot of games and the needs to be dropped to give him the incentive to work hard again and just to remind him that he is droppable. Hugill will also be raring to go for a chance to start and i think it would be best for the team to see him come in.

So Popey will come back sharp but we will be out of the cup. Hugill got a deserved run out against a tiring defence that were just completing 3 games in a few days. We can't risk any "chancers" the game is too important.

I would hardly describe him as a chancer!! Did you not see the highlights of Crawley game when the attack - minus Pope - ripped them to shreads and at a point when Crawley themselves were on a decent run??!

Hughill's altercation was with Kilkenny and it started as they were entering the box before the goal. Kilkenny was getting in Hugill's face, and it was good to see him giving him some verbal back and not being intimated by him. It continued after the goal, with presumably Hughill letting him know who was top dog now :)
