Starve em out ay Lozza, and you no need start about whinging you and Mark have done this for months about the board and then go and do a u turn and buy a season ticket.

No one takes any notice of hypocrites.

As has been stated previous times. I haven't signed Stsrve Em Out! So I've not gone back on any word.

We've got one of the best managers in League Two this could light the touchpaper for a new start off the field.

Everybody is saying Mo will do this Mo will do that. When? If he gets in. Things like this take time & money. I'd rather no we'd got a guy like Adams who can stabilise the playing side of things over that period than a manager who is just cutting his teeth.

It isn't going happen overnight. Tell you what tell Micky we don't want him & I'll go get Glover back he's at a loose end.

Perversely the fact that a Championship club came in for him probably raises his stock. SU were clealry in a mess or they would not have changed manager. Unfortunately it probably won't be V2001 who would sack him so why would they care?

SUFC had no choice to change manager as Gary Speed left for the Wales job. They were in trouble, but I wouldn't say they were 'clearly in a mess'. Adams took over with them clear of the relegation area and managed at one point to have them sitting in bottom place. His signings were derided, of which one I believe is already on the transfer list. How anyone who didn't win any of his first 14 games and got a club relegated can raise his stock simply because the team he managed is in a higher division is beyond me.

Nevertheless, V2001 double his previous salary and given that they have said many times that they only act in the best interests of Port Vale, they should care regardless of whether they retain control or someone else comes in. If V2001 retain control and Adams makes a mess of this, what are their options? Time will tell.

Don't get me wrong. I hope he succeeds and I am ok with the appointment. But the speed and timing of all makes me concerned that this is as political as it is about getting a popular manager back in the hot seat.

Understatement of the century.

We've been waiting 8 Years for any success whatsoever under Valiant 2001 and every year has been a total failure.

If theres a 9th and 10th year of Valiant 2001 at vale then those too will end in failure thats virtually guaranteed as their track record proves.

Am i the only Vale fan not jumping for joy at the seemingly imminent return of Micky Adams?

I'll fully admit that he worked miracles to overcome a shambolic board, ill discipline throughout the club and an average bunch of players to take us to the top of the league. But tben he walked out for his dream job (i certainly dont blame him for that), royally effed that up and in the process effed up our season, and now he walks straight back into a job with a 3 year contract when he wouldnt get a look in at any other club. It makes us look like an even bigger bunch of muppets than we already are!

Not only that but expectation will be ridiculous and if he doesnt immediately ressurect the situation with the same bunch of players then it will raise question marks over both him and them. If Gary Roberts suddenly starts playing again he wants shooting. You should never go back and i feel that will be proved in this case.

Adams is a very recently proven spectacular failure - still if you have a bunch of failed players in the squad added to a Board of directors who have consistantly proved they are failures where running a football club is concerned - then perhaps a failed Manager is all we can expect.

The Club and supporters deserve better imho.

Bratt and co are obviousley adopting the Gaddafi method of protection -he used his children and grandchildren, they are using what they percieve to be a popular manager as a human shield for the forthcoming s h ! t e thats heading there way ref EGM etc.

Lets be honest here, MA has accepted the 3 yr contract as he was out of work and if Mo gets in and chooses to get rid for someone else, bonus another payout as well as the one from Sheff Utd for doing **** all.

Not stupid is our loyal Mickey.

It would be an interesting legal question that. If he signed the contract knowing the EGM was imminent and the club may change hands, he may find it difficult to get his money if he is given the push!

And what do we know of his long term commitment? After all is another of the club s he supported as a boy going to come in? And if someone came in offering him shedloads taking that job has nothing to do with his commitment...commitment is what he does whilst at the Vale..not whether he leaves or not

I don't know anything, nor does anyone else - which is why many are "questioning" it.

I seem to recall Johnny Rudge seemingly offering commitment back in the day, by turning down other job offers. There is more than one definition of commitment, when it comes to football management, I would argue.

Here we go again another ******** who doesnt know his **** from his elbow, jog on ******.

I think you maybe need to exercise a little more civility...absolutely no call for that. If you want to be offensive, I suggest you go and do it somewhere else....has it ever crossed your mind that the best way to lose an argument is to resort to insults? Whatever the strength of your original point might have been, the only thing I would notice is that you don't seem to be able to do anything than insult someone who disagrees with you....

MF I would generally agree with you but unfortunately there are a 'number' of Vale supporters (well actually only a couple with multiple user names) who contribute absolutely nothing to the pro/anti board debate and whilst I believe that princey isn't quite as bad as the others he generally talks ******** and is just on a wind up.

If you read the Blades forums Rob, you will see that quite a few don't blame Micky for their failings this season.

The general consesus is that their squad was/is cack, and that their chairman is a headcase.

Be like home from home then for Micky if their chairman is a headcase

A contract is a contract - the club would have to honour it. regardless of who the Board are,the corporate body is still the same, and that is who MA would have a contract with.

Interesting. So the Board now have a vested interest in losing the EGM vote because there's no way they can afford his salary!!

He's just the person we need to stabilize the club on the pitch again, simply because the majority of the players want to play for him, hence Gareth Owen (arguably our most important player) doing a U-turn this week. However, getting the team fit and organized will only get you so far even in League Two, and without some decent signings over the summer, especially in midfield, were unlikely to finish much higher than we did this season.

Build the team around Tomlinson, Owen, McCombe, Roberts (if he gets back playing as he was earlier in the season under Adams) and Marc Richards.
