Terrible draw for us. U r gay will beat us and Italy are hit and miss , costa Rica are more or less on home turf . 3.games and home plus terrible Ko tomes

England's preparation for the World Cup is unprofessional and partly driven adversely by the Wembley financial burden. England did play Brazil for one game in Brazil last summer. But Spain, the world champions have been playing a large number of away games in South America or other equatorial areas. They played in the pre-World Cup tournament in Brazil and guess what, played a really tough game going to penalties after extra time and battled to the limits of physical capability against ITALY playing in the same competition in equatorial Fortaleza. So the idea that it is the same for Italy as England is totally wrong, Italy went out to Brazil and practiced in the worst conditions. England will turn up with no experience. Useless FA.

There probably is something in what Shearer said about a tougher group making us more up for it from the start rather than the lethargic manner in which we started and carried through in 2010.

 

However if we make it past the quarter finals we will have exceeded all expectations and if we make it past the group being in with the Italians and the cheats Suarez's Uruaguay I think we will have done well.

It is argued that Uruguay is an aging team with two good strikers. But Suarez this season is now having a spell where he is playing at Messi and Ronaldo level. By that I mean a player averaging a goal a game or better. His out of box play is also approaching their level. That means Uruguay can do what they do - soak up pressure and counter attack - with a player(s) who can finish. Tough game to play them in their own climate.

Reason given for changing the time is "Broadcasters concerned about viewing figures", are they nuts....what about concerns for players' welfare. Just a constant barrage of bad and bewildering decisions by FIFA.

I think we are capable of getting a win against Costa Rica and a draw against Italy in the first game,which no team will want to lose.Whether it will be enough,I'm not so sure.

Probably the worst draw i've seen for our group. The only consolation is Portugal are poor defending, and if keep Ronaldo quiet well have a chance.

FIFA don't give a dam about players health/welfare, they're just the pawns they use to make them money.
