Does anyone remember the half time ball juggling exhibition given by Dave Burnside :laugh:in the game where the floodlights were switched on. It was claimed after the rain affected game which the Vale won 5-2 that there were 3 West Brom players in the deep end and they couldn't swim

I wasn't there, I don't think, but it was 5-3.

I remember this game and the ball juggling. The floodlights were a big thing at the time and he did in front of us standing near the half way line in the Lorne Street. I would have been nearly 8 at the time and was allowed to go with my Dad because he was a big Ronnie Allen fan and it was a special occasion.

The rain was that swirling wet stuff and we were soaked. My Mum dried my hair with a towel in front of the fire when we got home.

It was a special night and floodlit games have been special ever since. Vale - a few more bulbs needed.
