Deadly Spiders head to SOT!

I was bitten by a tiny spider a few years ago whilst lying on the sofa in my flat in London..I saw the little critter head for the boiler cupboard after doing the deed

Sharp stinging pain in my right ankle, shivers (really really bad shivers), temperature then a racing heart..lasting a few minutes. My doc explained that was the venom passing thru my heart!!

Later in the day my right leg/foot began to become very sore and I could hardly put any weight on it. Being a bloke I'd decided to sleep my way thru it

The next day I woke up to find a strip of bare flesh exposed form knee down to ankle..the skin had been 'eaten away'. Looked a lot like this

Taxi to GP, he reared back in some fear/disgust when he saw my leg and as it was only on one leg he diagnosed it straight away. The heart/venom explanation followed. Course of antibiotics and over the next two weeks or so everything returned to normal

There was a bit of fuss about the spider, where it had come from etc but as there was no sign of it nor any sort of infestation the matter was dropped

Probably the most unnerving experience ever
