Wilshere's comments epitomise England's attitudes to football.

 

We're never going to win an international tournament when we believe that 'well, we're not technially gifted, and never will be, but by god we'll snap you and run after you".

 

If Wilshere is our best young player then we've got some serious problems.

But then where do you draw the line!

last month the fa said to many foreign players are ruining the chances for young English players......so what's fillin the national team with foreign players gonna do.

 

Wilshire's right, you play for YOUR national team. Id rather win or lose as England than win everyone else cast offs

And again whilst not raving or building him up as much as we should after one game but he looks sets for a decent career at Manchester United, the biggest club in the land like it or not.

 

No one, not even Zaha who is clearly behind him at United can say that.

 

Don't get me wrong lets not build him up to knock him down especially after one game but lets find the best players however we can, the UK is full of championed sports people we support for England or Great Britain who were not born here.

Kevin Pietersen is making Jack look a littel dim on Twitter....

 

Pietersen tweeted the England midfielder: "@JackWilshere -interested to know how you define foreigner...? Would that include me, Strauss, Trott, Prior, Justin Rose, Froome, Mo Farah?'"

 

Wilshere responded with: "@KP24 With all due respect Mr Pietersen the question was about Football! Cricket, cycling, Athletics is not my field!"

 

The exchange did not end there, with Pietersen swiftly retorting: "@JackWilshere same difference.. It's about representing your country! IN ANY SPORT!"

 

Wilshere responded again, adding: "@KP24 I agree that's exactly what I was saying."

Man Utd fans should have learned not to get to excited about a player after just one game. Didn't they do the same with Macheda(sp?) a few seasons ago whose career has hardly taken off and is currently on loan at Doncaster.

 

Exactly what I thought..though this lad does look a decent player even if it was against a poor premiership side.

Love Brian Mills! I still have his shorts from when he scored two on the last game of a season against Swindon i think it was.

 

Massive over hype from the media and Moyes on this!

 

We do have a rediculous tendancy to over hype way too soon!

 

I remember in one game at vp, vale were mounting a counter attack Mills was on his own in acres of space, the guy behind me was screaming Brian, give it to Brian, welease Bwian. Very funny at the time.

Daniel Sturridge is our best young player. He's improving and getting better all the time, and his signing is proving to be somewhat of a master-stroke by Brendan Rodgers.
