This is 2013, colour matching should be easily achievable, especially for £55!

But unfortunately it isn't.

When I ordered bridesmaid dresses that didn't have a colour swatch available so I had to pick the colour I wanted of a printed sample book. When they came there was a slight difference but I knew that there would be as a printed colour will always differ from that of material.

And they cost me £150 each!!!!

Doesn't really matter who paid does it.

The point is no matter how much you pay it's not always going to be an exact match.

Maybe the club should have put underneath artists impression or something along those lines.

Dark blue names on the advertised shirt.White names on the example shown in the photo.Thats no where near a match never mind an exact match.

But I will wait till I see it myself before making any more comment about colour, quality.

The Sondico sizing label on the back looks a bit *****, and perhaps the white bit of trim on the sleeve would've made a difference, but otherwise, I don't see the issue?! It's reasonably decent. I actually think I prefer the white text to the planned navy, it would've made the shirt look terrible.

Although, how it's taken 6 months to produce it, I don't know.

Generic colours are subject to a wide variety of shades and tints, blue varies from very dark midnight blue to a very pale sky blue and beyond. There are over 3,000 colours of white, thats why you cant order paint for a car using ford white as the descriptor, because ford used several different shades of white each white has a number so it can be reproduced exactly [or so they say].

I would imagine wedgwood blue is a specific colour, probably registered and patented so it can be reproduced exactly many times.

From a quick look at the shirt it appears the colour is wrong, the name colour is wrong, there are no white flashes on the sleeves. the neck looks different, the badges are too low and the GMB suddenly appears when it wasnt in the advertising/sales picture.

I can only guess why it took over 6 months to produce and the possible compromises made along the way, I can only guess who checked it and passed it as a reasonable facsimile of the sales photo... but at the end of the day....

If people are happy with the shirt thats fine.

I saw the one on display in the shop yesterday and frankly felt a little unimpressed. We do not know yet if that is the one we all will be receiving and it was impossible to actually try and find individual names on the shirt.

That said, I for one purchased it in good faith, to try and help Vale's monetary problems at the time so I will look forward to being told when I can collect it. Might now just leave it in the presentation box rather than wear it as I do have other shirts. Can see some though asking for their money back because it does not represent what was originally offered and I feel sad that that might cause some unrest at Vale headquarters! I assume people have the right to ask for their money back, IF they feel the product is not as offered?
