Chesterfield will either make a fortune on this lad or he will push them onto better things, Adams arrogance is only destructive to Vale I for one think the sooner he's gone the better. I dont know where he gets his god like views of himself but its worked because although he's a ***** manager he's made a terrific living from the game. Id honestly like Norman to take this "everyone look at me" nonsense from Adams out of his hands and get someone in whose proud to have the job.

Well Foyle and Glover were very proud to have the job and made a mess of it, in the latters case a right old mess of it, Adams is a success and is hounded in some quarters!

More than his last contract but not enough. This guy is the only player to come out of our absolute dog **** youth system that will go on to be bigger and better than Vale's level so what happens? He goes on a free, what is the point in Vale having youths or reserves on the load of boolocks development squad? Crewe make millions but we give them away after money is spent on development, brilliant that is Vale all down to one egotistical manager worrying about a player a player who may steal the limelight.

Yet more incorrect comments, at least if you are trying to belittle the manager get your facts right! ;)

Exactly. I can't see how anyone can knock the way Crewe produce talent to be honest. Compare their achievements in the last 20 years since they started doing it, to the years before that when they were constantly applying for re election. Small crowds but financially viable with excellent facilities. Where as we have had two administrations in 10 years.

I think in fairness to Smurf this is where he is looking to improve the club significantly.

I do agree with some posters from previous threads that maybe Micky is not the right man to bring such players through from youth developmental systems to the first team as he has had his fingers burnt too many times by the stupidity of young players and (rightly in my opinion) he doesn't suffer fools gladly especially when his job is on the line in such a volatile job market.

I'd love to see the development squad bring some youngsters through. Young talented footballers on low wages, rather than older journeymen on a last decent wage has to be the way forward at this level. Adams isn't the man for that, though I don't think he will be here next season. Thought has to be put into who they bring in and whether they fit the club ethos smurf wants. Swansea are a gods example of what good planning is this respect can do.

He wasn't let go. He rejected a contract offer of 2 years. Still, why let facts get in the way?

But ask yourself why he rejected the two year deal. He had been publicly castigated in the most shocking manner by his manager. He had,for the most part, been frozen out of first team action and, despite the offer, felt that his future lay elsewhere. I feel sure that he if he had stayed he would have been fighting in vain for a first team place whereas now he appears to be a permanent fixture in the Chesterfield team and playing well.It must have been music to Adam's ears when Morsy turned down the offer because should Morsy go on to bigger and better things, Adams can protest that he really wanted Morsy to stay and that it was Morsy's decision to leave the club. In my view we have lost a 'golden nugget'.What a fool Adams has been.
