anyone have any evidance to substantiate this????

No.

Even if this was true (and I seriously doubt it) I thought I'd read that King had left Brum because he was given the option of doing so or taking a wage cut. I presume he therefore still wants a top wage.

So, how on earth, with the Fair Play Ruling would we be able to afford a top Championship wage? Even if we moved Pope on (and I wouldn't get rid) that doesn't free up enough money. We cannot add Mathias Doumbe to the squad due to the FA Fair Play Ruling so I definitely cannot see us adding Marlon King.

As a further note, this is from the Birmingham Mail - "Marlon King is finally off Blues’ wage bill after both parties came to a mutual agreement to terminate the remainder of his £17,000-a-week contract and allow him to leave" and "despite a stack of clubs showing an interest in the striker, he has still not managed to find a new home."

I suspect that there is no chance Vale can add an extra £73,000 a month (or £884,000 a year) to their wage bill.
