I never used to care much for him particularly but now that I've found that REP dislikes him I've started to feel a bit of sympathy for him.

Rio Ferdinand has said recently that the sat decent boss England had was hoddle, as he was the only one who had a clear idea of how he wanted us to play. Tend to agree with him.

Roy Hodgson has a clear model of play with disciplined position retention. This saved us from being obliterated against Italy at the Euro Championships, but it is limiting when one has really top players they need to interchange and have flexibility to escape marking and get on the ball in space. The most striking thing this week for me was that England played Scotland at Wembley. Meanwhile the World Champions got on a plane and played Ecuador away. That means they learned even more about playing in the conditions and climate following on from the Confederations Cup.

I think Ferdinand made a good point but then again he only payed 4-5 times under Hoddle so how much does he really now..although that's 4-5 times more then I did:). Certainly I liked the way Hoddle organised teams to win individual matches and chose players and tactics accordingly..the away match v Italy being the best example for me

 

Hodgson also is very organised but whether his tactics will produce the right football and win matches is still very much open to debate

 

As to Redknapp..I reckon he knows a decent player and maybe is a good motivator but tactically he seems clueless..I remember that Russian player Palyochenko(?) at Spurs revealing that before he came on as sub Harry's instructions were simply to 'Run around a lot' which sums it up for me
