Arrived whilst I was away so must have come last Thursday or Friday.

Out of interest what's the new system, I take it the turnstiles haven't all been converted to scan only? so the gate person will have something to scan your card(like they have at supermarkets) with, which marks down that that ST holder has entered the ground/attended?

The person on the gate has a small hand scanner which they use to scan the barcode on your season ticket card. If it is valid (which they all should be) and you've gone to the right gate then it will give him a signal that you are ok to be let into the ground. He pushes the button, you push through the turnstile and jobs done. Hope that helps.

Nice I guessed it would be something like that, nice to see we're moving into the 21st century with systems at long last! I look forward to seeing it in action on Saturday!

So if someone tried to give their card to someone else through the fence after they'd got in it would reject them.

Under V2001, they'd have had the gate man with a piece of paper marking off everyone's number with a slide rule and pencil!!

Sounds simple, don't like the "if it is valid" bit though. I have received a card through the post but have no means of checking it works until I get to the ground.

The gateperson lets everyone with a ticket in - Thats the price of having a system that fails in its infancy.

Vale's had the money after all

Smurf then kicks the buttocvks of his suppliers and makes sure its ok for the League cup match...... and can we buy tickets for that on Saturday or will the ON LINE booking shop be open ?
