crewe players in bovver in cornwall

Recommended Posts

Normally I wouldn't even crack a smile at reading about a sick incident like this but...

I've had to read and listen to comments from those lot about how Vale are so "scummy"

Granted we've had a few lads fall foul of the law but never 5 in one crack.

Let's see how their morals pan out on this one.

That pedestal they put themselves on is sinking fast and I can't wait to listen to the hypocritical bull**** their fans are going to come out with.

Lets look then.......

That bloke on Crewe Mad just goes to show that it's a very humbling time for one or two Crewe fans out there. They perhaps might want to think about reining it in the next time Vale or anyone else sign a player with a 'past'. The apparent glee with which some of them greeted the signings of Clayton McDonald and Lee Hughes, had nothing to do with taking a moral high ground.

Crewe have recently signed Lee Molyneux, a reformed offender, and all the best to him with rebuilding his career. They also had a player called Patrick Ada a few years ago who is now a convicted rapist. The point being is that they are just another football club like everyone else. One or two Alex fans will still try to believe that they live in a little bubble where they play 'the Crewe way', that they're all nice polite academy lads and the last bastions of the Corinthian spirit. These are footballers, not Blue Peter presenters. Their players are no more or less unsavoury than all the other ones who play for the other 91 league clubs in England.

It will be interesting to see how Steve Davis handles this.

There's no doubt he's a talented and sought after manager, but as our own Micky Adams will profess, his stock fell after the La Manga incident, so what will come of Davis?

The higher the pedestal you put yourself on to look down on others, the further they have to fall. The bile that proggs would be spewing right now if it was vale would be unbelievable, but now he's all about calmness and not jumping to conclusions.
