First of all Bin the Recruitment Team .

    ... or we could send them to watch some actual matches and players rather than ;

    - looking at stats

    - listening to agents

    - watching youtube  videos of players' highlights, while ignoring their 'lowlights'

    - ignoring players' medical records

... and generally sitting on their fat ar**s instead of getting out there and doing a decent, effective job.

...... on the other hand, you are probably right.... just bin 'em off !

  2. I always had the impression that he didn't really want to come here in the first place, that it was something Man U wanted rather than it being his choice.  Played just over half a match, got injured (?) , looked out of his depth as Santa said, and probably didn't fancy a physical relegation battle when (if) he regained his fitness. Certainly not what we needed to replace Arblaster/Devine.

  3. Actually I was trying to ask the question, hence the question mark, as to whether or not some of the money spent on community projects could have gone  towards a better player budget. Obviously it was a hamfisted attempt, but I can glean the answer from the replies.  However, since I am not an accountant, I must remember not to ask any further financial questions and I assume (probably incorrectly) that other non-accountants will do the same.

As others have said I'd snap hand off for last game scenario.

I'm struggling to imagine us 4 points clear with 1 game left !

Hmmmmm..... 4 points clear with one game to play or winning the lottery...... let me think.... which is more likely?

  5. I will be delighted if we can take it to the last game v Cambridge, and still have the possibility of League 1 football in our own hands. I suspect that this is the best we can hope for.

... if anyone is thinking of organising a 'Get Flitcroft out protest,' I'll be happy to join in, contribute ideas etc.  Preferably over a pint or two!

.... I still wouldn't mind the pint or two, even though he's gone; just for a different reason.

The correct spelling is too in you're above context. Head should be head's. I'd recommend a full stop after word and commencing a new sentence.

Should that be 'your' rather than 'you're' in your reply, Warren?   😉😉

  8. "All I do know is , I want the club to go back to being primarily a Football club"   (Nippy Naylor)

..... and that is what all the Vale fans want.  Unfortunately, that is not what Carol wants.

To me this sounds like Carol is retiring, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the sale of the club announced sooner or later.

    You could hardly blame her.

That was exactly my first thought.... retire to a nice villa in the sun!!

  10. "All I know is that if words were to come out of the club saying that we are skint, fans would be far more forgiving and a lot of those now not attending would probs come back into the fold"  (Hoppers)

....if we are in fact skint, why the F are we employing a DoF on a fat salary? Perhaps, if that is the situation, we need to cut our cloth accordingly... and get rid of the DoF.

  11. I'm just hoping that Flitcroft can't do any more damage to our Club/team in the remaining 2 months, because Carol obviously isn't going to get rid of him, regardless of the fans feelings. Hopefully, Carol's DoF will use the rest of the season to look around for another club desperate enough to take him on....if there is one. Perhaps walking away voluntarily at the end of the season will look better on his CV than being sacked  - providing we don't get relegated (fingers crossed.)

  12. ... I thought Jones had been back in full training for at least 2 weeks, possibly 3, so when is he going to be available to play?  Perhaps when the sports scientists give their permission? What would they do if Jones said and felt that he was fully fit, but the sports mob said he hadn't been out for the required recovery time, as per their medical book?

Anyone still outside the Vale with any live pictures?

Sorry.... I've always thought it a bit cold or too wet to park myself up at Vale Park at 11.00+  Perhap they should have the deadline at 3.00pm.....😃😃

Bed time I think. Going to be really frustrating to watch Mighten beating 2 players then crossing it in to where a striker would be if we had any.

I suppose we could put Massey up front.

...I like your sense of humour, Bobby.....!

If he wasn't fit for purpose then the contract is null and void.

....I totally agree with this....I just assumed -quite wrongly obviously - that Liverpool thought he was okay to go to Vale and play, and Vale's medical staff obviously thought he was fit for purpose !  Anyway, enough said on this now from me.... need to concentrate fully on the next 6 hours 38 mins .
