  1. I was out Saturday, said to the wife I will check the score around 20 past 4 but am expecting it to have been held up by that point as it has been widely reported... looked on X and there was a picture of the fans on the pitch, the majority of fans knew it was a high possibility as their fans had said they'd do it, the EFL could have planned for it better than it was.
  2. I don't understand why they didn't just play it Saturday once the fans had all left the ground behind closed doors and at least complete the footballing side of it? They could of done that then sent out a tweet/report the match was concluded behind closed doors with the result and match report. Then Vale incur less costs, the integrity side is done and then its just down to the EFL to sort punishment for Reading and how to handle to loss to the Vale fans in terms of expediture.
  3. He was on the bench Saturday, seems to be rated, Savage linked to Derby, they've had bits accepted on a couple and Smith and Knibbs likely to go.
  4. They've improved of late, two have had a bid made (Abbey and Holmes) and expectations Knibbs and Smith could be sold.
  5. Hannant was decent enough for the level we were at when he played for us, went on to win promotion and seemingly be highly rated the following season, gone full circle via Colchester and Dundee to Gateshead now though, dont think he ever let us down and scored a couple of very good goals.
  6. We will be 2-0 up, 5 minutes to go and they get it abandoned and you just know the EFL would order a replay if the game! (although when Oldham did it against Salford they "Abandoned" the game, fans went home and they played out the last 10 minutes after in secret and let everyone know the result once finished. Going to be a difficult situation I imagine as looks as though their fans are going to really up the ante on the protests so we've got to do our jobs, be professional and what happens we will have to deal with as/if it occurs.
  7. Doesn't have multiple uses within it like MK Dons for example? The issue is owners may want that asset to make money... the football club is then an expensive inconvenience. Reading have punched above their weight for a couple of decades though, generally have spent much time rattling around our kind of level so is the stadium now a bit of a white elephant as well without top level football? They just need stability, an owner to give them that, similar to Bolton maybe where it will take going down again, getting a takeover and build for lower league football for a few seasons whilst they get back on their feet. Issue is you could sell it and have a Wigan scenario where they spend again, go up and then problems rise and 2 years later are in the same boat again (and repeat)
  8. Reading is always the one I forget when I am doing the Sporcle name the 92!
  9. If he can have us in the steady form since early December I would be happy, 3 wins, 2 draws in the last 7, keep that going until May we will have a steady but comfortable end to the season, has us finish on around 63 points and scoring goals like we have.
  10. He was decent that first season with no crowds and scored some crackers, tore Ricardo Santos to shreds at Bolton away, he was one player I really thought would massively benefit from having the crowds back post Covid season behind closed doors as he would get the crowd going and get the noise behind him but just didn't hit those heights again for us. Was really disappointed, he was the one I was most looking forward to watching play for us in the flesh who I expected to get me off my seat.
  11. IF you sign the odd one then why not, he would likely be a low fee/wage and if he develops into a good striker for us great, we have in theory a proper recruiting and scouting system now so would be good to see if it worked out. The fact so many clubs are linked suggests he is widely regarded as worth the chance.
  12. Considering he came in on trial to train with us he hasn't turned out a bad signing! Sad to see him go but understandable and nothing will take away those 2-3 real quality season's he had with us when he was one of League Two's best midfielders, any free kick in shooting range your almost expected him to score at one point and the Barrow goal was sublime. Wish him nothing but the very best of success at Oldham and thank him for his efforts with us. A rare captain to lift a trophy with us (Play Off Final) and gutted for him he was injured as he deserved to play a part.
  13. Decent signing on the face of it, struggled a bit with game time at Blackpool leading to his recall last week but did very well for Morecambe last season in a poor side.
  14. £198.00 if ordered in the early bird period (£8.61 a game) £300.00 after the early bird They also allow DD over 10 months so for example you could purchase a season ticket in the early bird and pay £19.80 a month. We tried it once under V2001 and gave it up didnt we?
  15. JCH wont help them defensively! They looked miles off, but oddly their forward line looked the only decent part aside from the keeper. Lincoln could be a bit of a dark horse to slip into trouble, lost 4 drew 2 of the last 6 and seem way out of form.
  16. Carlisle have had a take over and seem to be able to spend a bit more than most currently so may get out of it. Fleetwood do seem to be able to still pay for bigger name players so wouldn't rule that out. Would say we will have a better picture in February once the window closes. Burton and Shrewsbury seem to be flagging, Shrewsbury have got a few results but have scored only 17 goals all season and let in a lot, Burton seem to be going for an unproven manager.
  17. He never seems to be in and around it in the area when we get the ball in to be honest, not sure if hes told to do that (up until recently though none of our strikers seemed to be getting into those positions)
  18. Big game, lose this as despite our steady form the drop will be only 4 points below us. Win and it could be 10 points which would be a huge gap if Cheltenham lose also. These have picked up a bit lately so not an easy one, draw wouldn't be the end of the world, need to be positive and attack like we have the last couple of home games.
  19. I liked him, he has some poor games but then randomly destroyed James Milner in the Villa Cup tie if I recall, he was megging him and allsorts.
  20. Maybe on loan? would make sense to test him at L1 level.
  21. To be fair they were not a bad side either game we faced them and no league game is a gimmie, even in the promotion season we lost to Oldham and got battered in the home game for long spells. Wouldn't shock me if we beat Pompey in a few weeks if players are back from injury.
  22. Thats it though isn't it? If they are happy knowing whats bubbling in the fan base why not say "look we are happy and X Y or Z is the plan" give the fans something to either agree or disagree with and know what the club is trying to do directionally wise.
  23. Good post. I've just found myself trapsing up from Leicestershire and sitting there "bored" is probably the word I would use. Games we've sat back and over respected opponents. Summed it up one of the biggest games in our recent history in the QF and after half hour I was bored stiff, nothing was happening. There is so much focus on possession, knocking it around, Barcelona used to bore me because it was holding the ball, but often backwards and slow, only difference is they had world class players so could do it without losing the ball and often wore down the opposition to score... we dont have that luxury. I find everything frustrating, the same mistakes we make, the same injury crisis all the time but nothing seems to be happening, no movement on Crosby leaving or being backed, very little word from the DOF even. Everything just seems to have gone very flat and stale. I am wary though of "what you wish for" as the Page era displayed, we did have some scintillating home games under Page early that season mind, Uche and Andoh tearing sides apart but away was usually a dire 1-0 defeat... felt a missed opportunity that season as a half decent effort away would have got us a play off spot. At the moment though it does feel yet again that we are at the point of apathy and I go because I feel i have to rather than excitement at whats to come, everytime we seem to turn the corner (Wigan/Blackpool) we follow it up with a flat performance (Carlisle/Boro/Bolton).
  24. Saw it with ourselves with for example Conlon, being honest I expected Garrity to struggle but thankfully proved me wrong. It is a different kettle of fish I guess playing in each division. Gibbons for his versatility if stayed fit would a decent addition however his injury record would leave us potentially in the same boat.
  25. Correct unfortunately, unless Bristol want him back he can't play elsewhere.
