  1. I don’t get that argument. We signed two first team strikers last season that wouldn’t be happy just sitting on the bench every week and will be on a decent wage. They haven’t caused issues. Surely they’ve signed a first team striker, to play in their first team. Don’t see any issue other than they’ve got a good player. If he signed for us surely he would start with Wilson? Proctor as 3rd choice? I get the argument if you already have an influx of quality strikers but we don’t, we have two.

Stokes is a class batsman but he needs to rein it in. You can't get away with playing kamikaze gung ho cricket against world class bowling attacks that can bring on top class bowlers to back up the two opening bowlers. He is capable of taking world class bowling attacks apart if he plays himself in, waiting for the bad ball at first before becoming more expansive in his shot selection. When we play the Aussies I cannot see this style of batting working against Cummins, Starc, Hazelwood and Lyon.

Agreed. Stokes has always been aggressive. There’s no need for this attitude that after facing 5-10 balls I’m going to smack a decent ball for 6. Makes no sense, bairstow has played it perfect. Think he was on 10 or so off 50 balls at one point. Play aggressive but you still have to earn the right to. Like you say Stokes is easily good enough to just reign it in a bit especially at the start. Needs to play a captains innings 2nd time round.

Let's not go chasing unearthed diamonds this next season.

Hopefully we will sign proven league 1 experience.

A nice simple season of consolidation will do me fine.

A mix between the two for me, I’d like us to sign a first team proven player to play along side Wilson and then a young lad / unproven non league player as 4th choice. Proctor as 3rd

  4. Shocking crash. The halo has become a life saver can’t believe some of the drivers were against it a few years back. Crazy crash though on what isn’t the most dangerous of starting corners.

  5. I think we will try and struggle. I think they got used to the NZ bowling and after the new ball they didn’t have too much, this Indian side do. I think if we go out and try and smash it around again we could be skittled. I don’t buy that Crawley is such a key player because he’s aggressive and tries to hit quick runs as per what Stokes and BM have said. Leech back to going at 7/8 an over today, first day so not much spin but you have to bowl better that that even if opposition are trying to take you on.

Indian fans over hype everything. They’ve already won this game apparently.

With those formations, he's a shoo in.

But we mostly played 3-5-2, and there was so much debate about this sacrificing one of our best assets.

    I don't see that changing.

    Do you?

I can’t see us going into a season in league 1 with Worrall as starting RWB personally. Cass will play RCB and I think we will sign a starting RWB

If we retain these midfielders, and, perhaps, even add another 1 or 2, we can rotate without worry and try to win the Papa john's (decent cash!) and, maybe have a good Cup run or two - rather than having to ""protect" players for the next League game? There is nothing at all wrong with trying to grab some extra cash!

We definitely do not need 1/2 more midfielders. We have plenty now and probably 1 too many….  Rotation will and is always key, but we need some players in other areas of the pitch first.

Is anyone else really excited where we are as a club. Like i know not many will have heard of him but hes got a great pedigree and looking mainly at wigan fans views of him it looks like he could he a cracking signing and is proven at league one level. Not a single leak about him signing the club just feels so professional at the moment. Im really excited to see who else we sign and its not been often as a vale fan to be able say but i have full faith in our recruitment so it doesnt even matter of ive heard of or seen them play before we sign a player because with the matrix in charge i have full faith it will strengthen us as a team.

Just feels great not to be signing utter clowns like Mills, Whitehead and Robinson. <ovf censored> me the clubs come a long way

Never heard of him but really good pedigree so on the basis of that seems like he should be a good signing. Only played at a high level so pretty excited see him play.  I work with a Wigan fan so will see what his views are. Think this means Taylor will be off. Imagine there will be a few more this week signing

Why do we think one is off ?

Just can’t see us going having a squad with so many CMs. Think 1 has to leave - whether it be Taylor or not I think 1 will leave
