Midfield players IMO don't look too bad as long as we play them in midfield:

    Chis

    Garrity

    Ojo

    Grant

    Sang

    Walters

Although, appreciate some could go BUT depth doesn't look bad.

    Thoughts????

I would agree on the whole. I'm not sold on Grant at all and Sang is good 50% of the time (no idea if that would improve if he was ever played in his real position though). If he stays, I can see Walters being a mainstay of the middle - I think he could cut it in the next level down and move on in 2 years to bigger things.

Why did they replace the wonder of you with thunderstruck just before the kickoff on Saturday.

I've heard that it was just to try something different but decided that it didn't work and will be back to TWOY next game. Personally, as the last song before kick off when the crowd sings and the music stops, I think its very very good. I'm pretty sure that I have heard one of the players say in an interview that its quite spine tingling too.

Says a lot about Moore-what a major fup

I'm not sure its down to Moore. He hasn't given the bounce that I was expecting, but it was an unbalanced and dispirited squad long long before he joined. We haven't been a real unit all season.

  4. In my mind, this is one of the worse teams that I have seen in 40 years. I don't think that individually the players are worse than some I have seen, but there is zero unity. They look bereft of team spirit (something we had in abundance under Clarke and Adams) and we need to almost build them up again from the ground

Perhaps I'm jumping to conclusions but the news story announcing it:

    https://www.port-vale.co.uk/news/2024/february/rhys-williams-returns-to-liverpool/

isn't anywhere on the official site homepage or on the news index.

There may be an innocent explanation but if it's a case to try and slip bad news out without people noticing it's a bit rubbish - do they think people will forget he signed and not notice he's not in the squad? I'm not saying you need to lead on this story (the club would obviously prefer to have a good news story as the top story) but surely it deserves to be somewhere on the homepage and news index?

100% agree. Its not that difficult to get a quick release out there! Perhaps they are looking into what the fluff went on there. Were we misled or did someone in the medical team drop the ball here?

What “impression” does selling a proven league 1 striker to a rival on the very same points in January when we are not safe in the division give you?

It doesn’t give me the impression of a club dedicated to wanting to stay in the division. It gives me the impression that they feel we can gamble with the club’s league status.

It gives me the impression that we are not convinced by our current forward line and want to improve it. For all of the faults at the club (I agree that it isn't perfect) I have never once got the impression that we want to go down so that we can celebrate coming back up - thats a mad statement!

People don't understand how dangerouse uche would be in this league once he's sorted out his shooting. We've all seen some of the rockets he's tried to put towards the net. A bit more practice and he's one of the best strikers in the league.

What do you think that they do all day ... they practice. This lad will always be big, but I don't see a 10 goal season out of him. He can't hit a bloody barn door most days. He is  menace and needs to play up front as a 2, but we shouldn't be building him up as a world beater just because someone else wants him. He is VERY replaceable IMO

Absolutely this. If the club was really into building for the future they would be looking at who to add to push us up league 1. Not looking at selling on any players. Frankly we need another striker anyway, not letting go of one of our two proven ones.

Some bloke from Bradford in league 2 doesn’t cut it. League 2 is dreadful. Anyone can see that when we outplayed one of the division’s strongest sides in Mansfield.

We need to move on from league 2 punts. Look at the players clubs around us in the league are signing. That tells the real story.

We are trying to sell a very good player to a club on equal points to us in the same division.

It is as if we want league 2 football. I get the impression Carol wants another league 2 Wembley glory year next season.

In the world of the internet where mad things get said all of the time, that last line is possibly up there with alien landings and drinking bleach to solve COVID. madness!

Or down to Carol who will cash in every opportunity she gets.

Thats ultra harsh IMO. I have no data to back this up, but would bet heavily that Carol and the family have invested way way more than they have recouped and that this is not a vanity / asset stripping project as we have seen under Norman in the past.  Money in where it is possible to be invested in other areas where necessary is normal business and Carol is clearly balancing the short term losses against longer term gain through investment.  If hypothetically the club can make a 100k on a player, bring one in for a 50k and invest 50k into better facilities, surely thats good management?

I guess Lowe could move into central midfield as well.

    I've never

been convinced by Lowe in midfield personally and certainly wouldn't want to see him there for the rest of the season. We need more movement and pace in there
