  1. Time to go! DF get out of our club!
  2. Wrong man sacked. Ainsworth please.
  3. AC, nice guy, good coach. Clearly not backed or supported effectively by the people in the background responsible for formulating budgets, attracting and recruiting players, carrying out medicals on prospective new signings, etc... I feel sorry for him, he clearly cares and has been let down by others. DF, good at spending (wasting) other people's money. Talks a good game. I'm not a fan of his, but he didn't appoint himself! CS, has made some mistakes and, with each passing week, those mistakes are becoming more and more obvious. She needs to make the necessary changes to the "football" part of our football club if we're going to improve. I think changing the manager would give us the best possible chance of staying up this season, but it would only (at best) paper over the cracks. The philosophy that DF has sold to CS is floored. Becoming a nursery/creche facility for bigger clubs, nurturing their young players, has very little benefit for our club. AC clearly has the ability to develop young players and create a team that is capable of playing good football. If we want to go down that route, he is the man to do that job long term, but it needs to be done with our own young players (Plant, Shorrock, Dipepa, Lomax, Walters, etc...) and we need a solid spine of established, experienced League 1 players to support that process. We currently only have Ripley, OJ and Garrity who are genuinely of the required quality needed. (We bizarrely let David Worrall go, he was undoubtedly the required quality too) The vast majority of Vale fans saw DF as the problem a long time ago. How long will it be before Carol sees it? If we change manager (to someone like Ainsworth, for example) we may just get enough "New Manager Bounce" effect to avoid relegation, but if we don't move away from the ideas and philosophies from the current DofF, it will at best be a temporary fix and we'll be in the same position (or worse) this time next year. UTV!
  4. Thousands of us sit there week in, week out, patiently watching The Vale face team after team after team with better players than we've got and "accepting" defeats against teams that we're told have bigger budgets than we do. It's so hard to win promotion, but the club seem to have thrown the towel in this January and accepted that we're not going to compete in the transfer market for players of the required quality and simply gamble on cheap loans of kids who belong to other clubs. The club has been totally mismanaged over the last five weeks and it's very sad that we're likely to get relegated back to the basement division again, without even putting up a fight. I feel sorry for AC. He does seem to care. DF needs removing from our club ASAP. On another note, where is Arblaster currently? Is he just treading water in Sheff Utd's under 21s now for the rest of the season?
  5. I'm not a manager. I've never been a manager. Despite that, here's a bit of advice for ours: Today we were playing the bottom side, 13 points behind us and a -25 goal difference. Tactics should have been get at them, put them under pressure, put the ball into their box early and quickly from all angles as often as possible. Shoot as often as possible from the first minute to the last. The "patient" football tactics that he employs (ineffective tippy tippy boring short sideways and negative backwards passing deep in our own half) was pathetic and absolutely not what was needed today. Three centre backs is not working at all ever with the players we've got. DF has pretty much guaranteed relegation with yet another abysmal January TW. Our squad is a joke, with maybe five players (at best) up to the required standard/level (one of whom, BG, out long term injured) Our only hope now: get rid of DF and go and get a decent manager in. I'm just waiting to hear ACs latest excuse on Radio Sjoke. Will it be the pitch, the weather, the sea air???? Fuming tonight!
  6. Lack of sufficient investment in the team. We're heading for the bottom of the league fast. The commentators on Radio Sjoke are annoying too. This is an old-fashioned pitch, apparently???? Fleetwood are the worst team in the league by a distance. We have to turn this match around in the second half. Stop this patient build up nonsense, it isn't working. Put them under pressure!
  7. Just read the post from Mr Brightside. Seems they've had a bad window too!
  8. So they've added three permanent and four loans? Have they had any players leave?
  9. I fear that this latest January transfer window could be our worst ever. Our squad looks imbalanced and painfully short of goals and strikers. (Even more than the last few years, astonishingly) We appear to want to develop young players for other clubs (Sheff Utd, Spurs, Palace, Swansea, Man U, Brighton, etc...) and leave our own young players (Shorrock, Lomax, Walters, Dipepa) on the bench. It's very frustrating that we now have to play the home games that were postponed due to international call ups without any of those three "international" players available, plus with a much weaker squad than we had in October/November. I can't help but feel that whoever is making the decisions that affect the football at our football club, the things happening on the pitch, is a complete moron who blunders through each day, week and month making it up as he goes along! I'll be very surprised (delighted but surprised) if four teams finish below us this season. We've lost over half our home league games so far this season and have had a high number of injuries all across the team, despite all the "protection" that has been given to the players by AC and the subsequent chopping, changing, and baffling substitutions made on the advice of the medical team. Still, on the bright side, we're playing Fleetwood today, rooted to the bottom of the league with a goal difference of -25. We should produce a confidence and morale-boosting performance with a convincing away win! UTV!
  10. 24 hours to go. Not great so far, in fact pretty awful. Will I still be saying that this time tomorrow? I really hope not! UTV!
  11. Having had a very strong midfield of Ojo, Garrity, Arblaster and Devine, we're now reliant on two young loanees. I hope Ojo is back very soon.
  12. It's the 27th of January and, unless there is significant transfers into the club over-the-next week, this transfer window will go down as the worst ever and see us relegated by mid-March! 🙈
  13. That was match fixing by the referee today. He needs to be investigated and put in prison. It was obvious from ko until the final whistle. The supporter who went onto the pitch should be congratulated, not condemned if 5000 of us had gone onto the pitch and forced the game to be abandoned, the EFL have set a precedent of a 3 point suspended point deduction! Football is rotten to the core. I'm so disillusioned by that today. Blame the betting companies. UTV!
  14. This will raise the profile of our club. It'll be interesting to see how it develops over the months and years. There's loads of potential for it to be great.
  15. Weak by the EFL. No deterrent to other fans of other teams to invade the pitch and force an abandonment.
  16. Protest made, fair enough, but a very small number have taken it too far.
  17. Signings in the summer that were excellent: Ripley, Chislett, Arblaster, Devine. Signings in the summer that have been decent: Iacovitti, Lowe, Sang Not a bad summer really. We need to add a left sided player and a striker in this window. Plus, we need to replace with better anyone that leaves. Strong rumours that Conlon, Cass and Walters are going to leave. I'd be amazed if we can get better than Arblaster, so we need to strengthen other areas, especially strikers. (Unless Loft and Uche start to produce) UTV!
  18. This time last year, we'd played 24 games and sat 9th in the league with 35 points! Our goal difference was -5 and we had a 13 point cushion (and a game in hand) over Burton who sat in 21st position. Burton were the only team in the relegation zone to escape. From our 24 games so far this season, we currently sit 15th with 29 points. Goal difference is -10. We're 6 points above Exeter who are in the relegation zone in 21st place. Bottom team Fleetwood are 11 points behind us. We can't afford another rubbish January window, otherwise we'll likely be getting relegated come the end of this season. The defeat against Carlisle was a terrible result and the team need to respond with a win today.
  19. The first week of the transfer window has seen many of the rival teams in our fight against relegation strengthen their squads or even change their manager. We've had no ins or outs as yet this week. We're significantly weaker since Arblaster was recalled. From what I've seen, around 80 to 90% of loan signings are rubbish and have very little impact. The odd one that is decent leave after a few short successful months anyway. I'd much rather see us developing our own youth players. Arblaster and Devine have been the exceptions, but we must surely be able to find our own youth team players that are equal to (or hopefully better than) the likes of Balmer, Mipo, Mcarron, Small, etc... The last time I saw Walters play (was it in the first half against Barnsley?) I thought that the rest of the team noticeably bypassed him and didn't pass to him at all. Did anyone else think that? I really hope that our club learn from previous January windows! UTV!
  20. When was the last time we had a stronger team and squad following a January transfer window? Promotion season maybe? (Under Smurthwaite and Mickey Adams!)
  21. I've just listened to ACs latest mard arse interview full of excuses. Did Carlisle not play any games over the last few weeks? When we played with the young wing backs, we kept a clean sheet. When he put the awful GM and CG back on, we conceded two goals. Grant and Massey may be experienced but they're also f***ing sh**!
  22. ...and take the captaincy off Smith, he's not captain material. Give it to the Yak or Lowe.
  23. Hope we can offload Massey and Grant and send Balmer back! Get some better players in!
  24. The person/people in charge of recruitment decisions need to be sacked. I don't know if that's Crosby or not. Striker recruitment has been shambolic. Our best striker is injury prone and was released last summer. Fleetwood decided he wasn't worth a contract. Crosby picks the team (I assume) and decides on the formation and tactics. His record is abysmal and he'll be out of a job sooner rather than later if home results don’t improve quickly. One up front doesn't work with what we've got in our squad. The first half yesterday was embarrassing. How the hell we've ended up with Gavin Massey when we did have David Worrall beggars belief. Woz is consistently 100 times better than GM. Loft, maybe he'd look better if played as one of two up front, alongside Wilson? I don't think he's had a very fair start to his time at the club, being played as a lone striker. Maybe the playing and developing of our academy players will buy AC considerably more time? I for one am sick of watching Vale lose game after game after game after game after game at Vale Park. If the club don't change something, attendances will fall dramatically in the new year. I personally would get rid of AC. He's a coach, not a manager, and he doesn't inspire the heart, passion, bravery, guts and determination which any team needs on a match day if they're to win more than they lose. Hope 2024 is a better year because we've been dogsh*** in 2023. UTV!
