  1. Now players are back from injury Moore seems to be playing 'our' players and not the loan players. Mighten was defensively woeful in the last appearances he made and shouldn't play again while we're fighting to stay up. Moore also seems to like playing forwards in pairs - Loft and Massey are then replaced by Uche and Dipepa. I can't see this changing although I think Uche and Dipepa are the more threatening - and I use the term 'threatening' lightly. Dan Jones has a mistake in him every game and isn't a left back. He shouldn't be anywhere near the first 11. Chislett needs to play tomorrow and we need to find a way to get him and Garrity further forward as they're our best chance of scoring. UTV
  2. Ripley Debrah Smith (C) Lopata Clark Plant Ojo Garrity Mighten Loft Wilson 4 4 2 - no square pegs in round holes (apart from at LB where we don't have a LB). No messing about at the back, direct football and put them under pressure from the off.
  3. That quote is from 2 years ago when he signed for Stoke. Newcastle were paying 2/3rds of his wages to get him off their books.
  4. They're both parody accounts. Neither any chance of happening.
  5. Uche has shown his value when he's played as part of a pair with Wilson. He did look a bit lost playing the lone striker. When defenders tried to out muscle him, he'd get the better of them and look a handful, when they played to his weaknesses he'd look mediocre. But he always put a shift in and got people excited. If he does go, 'Good Luck Uche'.
  6. On paper, it's easy to improve the squad. Maintain a strong core of regular starters and sign players that improve them. Move on the players that are replaced. In practice, it's really difficult as players that will come to the Vale aren't 'ready made' - they'll either be young, untested, young and untested, injury prone or past their prime with little sell on potential. Rudgie always used to sign a mix but we don't seem to sign many experienced pros at the end of their career or those that have fallen by the wayside- Bob Hazell, Ron Futcher, Chris Sulley, Bernie Slaven, Ian Bogie, Keith Houchen, Andy Hill... I guess it's down to the fact average Championship players can be multi-millionaire's in their early 30s and don't need to keep playing. I'd love one of the above type of players in the squad now.
  7. That's my understanding. Unless we offer a deal that is accepted, Wilson could be leaving after tonight.
  8. He was sent off in the new managers first game.
  9. Exactly this for me. In his earlier games I thought he looked a luxury we could get away with playing because we were winning. There was one game where he was at fault for a goal where he didn't track his man with any commitment. Fair play though, he's adding that to his game and I thought on Tuesday he was one of the better performers.
