  1. It was massively disappointing that he didn't hit the target with his one on one.

Mighten broke and he made a great run, and I think we all knew he was gonna get there first ahead of the fleetwood defenders, but the closer he got he visibly froze.

I strongly believe a lot of the abuse and vitriol directed at him has clearly got to him.

It doesn't matter now that he wasn't the signing that many wanted, it also doesn't matter now that he hasn't got a spectacular goalscoring record.

I've observed him working so hard for the cause and often things don't come off for him. He's clearly a confidence player and in the current environment it must be toxic for him.

Until Uche and Wilson get fit, the reality is he's all we have until the end of the season.

I think enough of the <ovf censored> now, he didn't cost us the game with that miss, the garbage tactics second half did

Well give the youth his credit he’s honest (media muppet) he describes  himself just for believing what Fleetwood had put out. TBH I describe him as a football fan who lives for his football club and has to believe what they tell him. It could be likened to his oxygen. Seems to have a good knowledge of the league and of other teams that Fleetwood are playing. Spoke highly of some of our players and backed it up with stats. Im confused as to why he wasn’t interviewed for our vacant managers post and given a 5.5 year contract. His honesty would make post match interviews interesting to listen to. Well done lad.

One of the good guys Knappers, always decent content

Tom Pett walks straight into our team a very good player .

What on earth was Moore thinking at half time .

Bottle jobs I heard someonrvshout at end .

The fans were really angry .

My lads texted me and said he couldn't believe it I said I could we just give the whole game to them no shithousing no one going down for nothing.,second half we didn't just run out of legs we gave up 3 quarters of the pitch to them I'm going excuse B Garrity as surely if anyone goes off its him with just coming back from injury the fact D Moore took ojo off was telling .

Once Debrah made that mistake why wasn't he hauled off

Ripley for how good he is well that was very cowardly .

Fleetwood deserved win that game based on Vales players I'd say 6 of them remaining in changing rooms mentally all second half .

If your a professional footballer at least try play like one

So true, there was no game management at the end.

Lincoln gave us a masterclass of it for 88 minutes on saturday. Should have been plenty of ideas fresh in the memory

Not sure why fans are calling it all DM's fault.  He has been dealt a crap thread bare squad of players, some of which are not fit for lads and dads sunday team.

First half Vale looked comfortable and able to battle - then in the 2nd half they brought on experience and better players.  What had we got - thanks fraudcroft nothing really and Fleetwood just over ran us.  2 mistakes and 2 goals.  Thank god the ref blew when he did or else they would have won the game.

I won't excuse the individual errors as they were criminal and he's right in some ways in his interview when he says we seem to get punished where other teams get lucky.

We do have a very rigid squad with not much room for flexibility and by signing "good eggs" we seems to be completely devoid of any absolute nastiness thats sometimes needed out there to see games through to win.

I do think Moore has to take some proportion of the blame though as at half time Adam switched up the shape and designed it to get balls into Stockley and it came up trumps for him.

I sit right at the back of the Hamil and you could see the repeated pattern, whether it was left wing or right wing, they high pressed with a triangle and one would eventually whip a cross in with pace rather than float it in. Designed to cause panic and pressure.

    Our responses were the following:

    1) Clip it out for a corner

    2) Half clear it away to their two awaiting centre mids who mopped up every single second ball, and either had a crack at goal themselves or fed it wide so the move starts all over again

This went on for the entire second half, and even though he changed personnel, he did nothing to change that shape. For me he's just hoping we hold out there, and if you let a team dominate the ball like that and have the ball constantly in the box, the law of averages says one will go in.

    Another tough pill to swallow

Charlton went down early and trained at Everton in preparation for the Bolton game. They are throwing money at it every way they can.

This is it, they are going for it.

About a month ago, maybe two I thought that maybe we'd be safe as there would be 4 worse sides than us.

I'd say maybe two now, and both have beaten us in their own backyard

This is such a lazy trope.

David Flitcroft is not the only person in the universe capable of being PVFC's DOF despite the apparent infatuation with him.

Given he'd never done it before, literally anybody with previous EFL managerial experience is as qualified as he was when she hired him.

The main reason he's still here is that balance sheets show he's made a profit in 3 windows.

    It can only be that.

Decision to let Cass go out on loan looks a shocker now we are playing a back 4 with no right backs. He’s the only one we had!

I used to like Cass but his form went downbank rapid.

Noticed he's played 4 times for Stockport since his move

Had a good debut in a 3-1 win against Grimsby and even got a goal, but since then....

Was absolutely turned inside out when Crewe beat Stockport 3-1 away, was done for pace and lost possession multiple times over. They should have taken him off.

Was taken off at Half-time on saturday as Tranmere battered Stockport 4-0

That said had a decent game on Tuesday night though against Gillingham.

Like all of our current players, can't seem to find a run of form or confidence.

No idea, but there has been a budget for all 3 windows, it’s how that budget has been spent, or not spent, that’s in question.  Listening to the podcast would indicate that whilst some players were asking too much we did have some money for the right player but in the end sat on our hands while the clock ticked.

I heard that too, and also that we'd put generous bids in for players.

Not sure what Moore's salary is in comparison to Crosby's but you would have to assume we do have some money to spend.

Get relegated, that quickly becomes part of a budget that no one wants to see

  9. I will actually be getting a ticket for the first time in a long long time.

Living in Liverpool, and family/work commitments used to mean I couldn't get to games and this season I've been at games with or without the kids.

It's only Feb and I've spent £300 on league match tickets at home and I'm likely to be at the majority of the ones to come too.

Financially it's a no-brainer for me, if I'm going to be going to the games like I have been.

Didn't we have another chance too in the mid-noughties to go down and have 12,000 seater stadium where that JCB place is now off Mitchell Way on Lowlands Road

Yak at LB if no Clark

Sang at RB if no Debrah

Lowe, Massey and Grant unused subs.

Focus on defending, with the best defenders on the pitch, don't ask them to do anything else

I struggle to see where Grant fits in anywhere, there's not a game this season I can recall him having a positive influence in any position

One thing that I have noticed of late is that after 60 mins we run out of steam. It was inevitable that Reading would score. We offered nothing really. Just looked a 'tired' below average outfit going through the motions as best thay can. Where is the data on all this Dave. More KPI required on the football pitch required, Is there an out of contract player out there who at least looks like being able to find the net at some point? Disappointed, disillusioned and feel hood-winked based around the  'feel-good'/ 'do good' HMS Port Vale FC ship that is going down faster than the Titanic.

He's simply got to get some free agents in to back the team up and give us a bit of depth

  13. Finances dictate I can't go to Derby but I'm at all those 3 home games.

I suppose I'm clinging to the hope that he can improve them more in coming games. There's no doubt about it that for an hour yesterday there was a vast improvement.

Once we had to reshuffle the pack, it became glaringly obvious we have zero in strength, depth or flexibility.

DF has to exploit the free agent market, he simply has to at least try

  14. I liked the back four, i liked the concept and it worked for the long period.

Off went Jones, on come Grant and then the floodgates opened down the right.

I feared Lowe would struggle with the pace and athleticism of their midfield, once Savage came on he was always going to struggle with the second balls.

I can't really blame Darren Moore for tonight, he just simply hasn't got enough depth and flexibility in that squad and that is not his fault.

Can we get a left back and a striker in before saturday?

I don’t care…. GRANT is not a left back! Put the Yak on, not the best but at least he is a defender.

Much as I don't rate Grant, Yak would have been the same, he has zero pace.

There was this lad we had called Benning that could have played there, please someone tell me that Grant has been an upgrade in any game this season

Why take Mighten off, our best goal threat tonight?

He hasn't played enough games to get a full 90 yet, he'll be great in the coming weeks

    Just now, philpvfc said:

Why take Jones off and replace him with a winger?

Because we don't have anyone else other than Shorrock. I'd have played a double leg amputee ahead of Grant though

    Just now, philpvfc said:

    Why take Chislett off?

    To give Garrity minutes

    Just now, philpvfc said:

Why is Lowe on the pitch?

Wasn't really the worst, but again, not enough in the squad

    Just now, philpvfc said:

Loft lasted too long, done nothing

Guy works hard but has zero confidence or composure. Alternative is Wilson who can't play as a lone striker or Dipepa just the same.

    Just now, philpvfc said:

Anyway- 0-0 up until the subs, and within 9 minutes after Moore’s inspired substitutions we are 2-0  down.

I think his hand is forced to some extent, but I said this morning putting Grant up against Azeez and Yiadom would be suicidal so he has to look at that one. If Plant/Clark are fit, Grant is sat in the stand

    Just now, philpvfc said:

Sold down the river again by DF, Moore will take us down and we are stuck with him for 5 years

I don't think Pep Guardiola could get a tune out of this group, but for 65 minutes until he had to shuffle we improved a lot. I trust he can improve us, we're running out of time to see if it's enough this season

Andy Yiadom was excellent that said, and if we've got Connor Grant down that left side, then Grant's in for a busy  and stressful night

If only Jones could hang on for another 30 minutes, they've had an absolute disco down that right since Grant went left back 😔

Long time since Sang put over some decent crosses. Long long time since Grant put over some decent crosses, from open play. Infact tell me any player that has produced regular crosses into the box. They have all been useless. Or is it the system we play ??

It's the pattern and style of play, we don't seem to release the ball to wide spaces quickly enough and by the time the opposition have players in covering positions the play then becomes a possession based triangle on the edge of the areas, or down into the corners.

You're relying on that short and accurate ball to get in behind and then hope we can get a cross in. Even when we do get in behind,  we don't cross well at all, usually it's a panicked ball pulled back across the box which is often cleared

Prioritise the season ticket holders & sod everyone else. My point being it should have been made to anyone purchasing a ticket if they want boost the numbers

They did it last year against Barnsley and previously against Colchester, so I suspect they budgeted for it and chose to use it on this game for Moore's arrival.
