  1. I watched Stafford Rangers play Ashton United on Saturday. Ashton had Sean Newton in defence, he is 35 and played 77 games for Lincoln 10 years ago before returning to non league. He looked like he was in a different league to everyone else on the pitch. Non league may have some young gems but they are few and far between.

Absolutely ridiculous comment, especially in this day and age when awareness around hidden disabilities and illness should be much higher. Give your head a wobble.

He was obviously well enough to drive...

  3. The Port Vale women's team are still in with a chance of promotion. They play exciting football and score quite a few goals. 4 games left I think. I am sure they would appreciate any support and it is only £4 in at Kidsgrove. Good beer and you can watch the match while you drink it too.

Yeah, why don't people stop speculating, on a football forum, about a subject very few people know the truth about.

For the person above who said remember Kevin, he has heart problems and is staying in the background.

Kevin didn't look too bad when I said hello to him the other day.

Sang isn't a defender, that's the thing. He's a midfielder who can fill in at right-back when needed. Because of atrocious recruitment he has been needed to play right-back all season. I wouldn't say any of the players deserve anything, but Sang could certainly warrant an arguement that playing nearly 50 games out of position in League One, when so many other players have gone missing with injuries or just not fancying it, that he deserves to be given a chance in his proper position in midfield in League Two.

Sang does put some lovely balls into the box for no-one to run on to, that isn't his fault though. I think he is good when played in the right position.

    This is a great idea.

However, we have numerous fans forums where these concerns were made.

Did Carol not listen to them back if she wasn't in attendance?

I don't think Carol listens to many people,  after trying to talk to her at the Hamil move open meeting.

I think it also has to be mentioned bar West Brom how badly the clubs have performed after he has left, which doesn’t mean he has left them in a great position.

West Brom got promoter the following season finishing 2nd

Doncaster finished 14th the season he left and got relegated the season after

Sheffield Wednesday have struggled all season and may go down

Huddersfield have picked up since he has gone but may well go down.

Could be argued that it’s because they miss him or because he has damaged them but all of the clubs have had significant seasons straight away after his departure.

It must be because they miss him, in the same way that Walsall, Bristol Rovers and Vale missed Clarke...

IF we were actually in for Smith at Sheff Wed i cant see him dropping to League 2 now

I wouldn't mind us trying to pinch the experienced Smith from Salford, getting on now but would continue to score in League 2 imo,not mobile really but always seems to be there and is about 7 foot 10 🙂

What difference does it make 😱😄

  9. There have been a number of unfortunate circumstances which have combined to get us to this position. Unfortunately football isn't as simple to manage as some other businesses. I am looking forward to not having to go to Vale Park for a while.

At last some common sense on here.

The reason most clubs struggle financially is because the owners lose interest OR their primary business starts to run out of money.

Every  club in the land, except 4, plan to loose money but increase the businesses value through CAPEX investments. The rest is a decision on wages and whether to fund overspend and convert this into a share issue or an interest free loan.

I think it’s pretty obvious our priority as a club has not been off the pitch. That has to change if we are to become a stable L1 club.

Do you mean "on the pitch"?

Uche was man of the match v Exeter and Wycombe. Deservedly so. Ojo is good holding midfield player. Garrity OK. Chislett has scored some goals, but gets tackled often in vulnerable positions too deep.

At L2 level, Ojo can be a useful older player who controls the game. His problem in L1 is that many of the other players, particularly the whole back 5, aren't good enough on the ball. So his attempts at controlled possession and constructive passing can be ineffective.

I'm fed up. I know PV isn't the wealthiest club, but there is no reason for us to have a team that got relegated. There are several clubs above us such as Lincoln and Exeter I'd expect us to compete well against. So, I guess I have to accept mismanagement prior to Darren Moore and including the former DoF are to blame.

I think we tried to be too clever. We took too much notice of statistical analysis of individual player performance. On paper it would be simple enough to pick the best performing player from each position in the league and put them together to make a promotion winning team. Even if that were possible in real life there is no guarantee that it would bring success. It is so sad that we have made such a mess of things but tried so hard and wasted so much money.

That’s astounding that all of the defence keep their places after that abortion on Saturday. Big call to not include our most effective attacker in Baylee unless they are now wrapping him up in cotton wool in case he gets injured ahead of any sale in the summer! Uche and Loft should provide some comedy between them anyway.

Who else does he play in defence though? Lopata is coming back from injury, Jones is still injured I guess. Our squad is woefully thin on options anywhere on the pitch really.

The rules were a bit vauge on that in fairness, but we'd have had a better chance of beating them with Alfie and Uche starting than we did in Feb with neither!

Maybe we should pay some people to invade the pitch at their last home game to get them another points deduction.
