  1. How do you work that out ? we hardly won a game with Ollie and Devine playing.

Only 2 games won when both Arblaster and Devine started the games. Northampton and Wigan at home. Great potential but poor decisions ultimately from the club to allow deals where they could go back in January. Lessons for the future when loaning players. Devine only looked good once Arblaster got injured in the Middlesbrough game and was struggling to hold down a place until then

  2. The owners need to fund the signing of quality players , if this happens we can judge the manager this time next year . Nobody could have saved us from relegation IMO because the players simply wernt good enough . At the end of the day , its all down to what the players do on the pitch . Enjoy the summer .
Spot on. We have a bunch of sub standard players, whether that be down to poor recruitment or no funds to allow recruitment of decent players.

Motivation can play a part and not sure Moore would make me want to run through a brick wall but you need fighters to make it happen if the quality isn't there. We don't have more than a couple of fighters.

Presuming we can't just pay them off then we are in for a depressing time next season too

  3. We are playing a lot more direct than under Crosby. Problem is Loft cannot hold the ball up and Uche is far too slow, not getting any joy from the long balls.
We're not though, only when we are chasing the game like last night. I haven't seen any long ball play other than last night when I think we completely lost the plot and had no idea how to bypass the Wycombe back line.

We still faff around with it across the back in the first half of games, no real aim or.purpose to it, more playing to instruction. Perhaps the players get plus points for the numbers of passes. Look at the first minute of the game last night, absolutely comical attempts to pass the ball by players who are no where near good enough to play that way

Maybe I just don't get the current fashion in football to play all these passes at the back. However I don't see other teams playing this way against us

Maybe the time is right to have a break from it, not enjoying watching us lose most weeks. I've lost the passion just like the players

  4. Not sure what our style of play is under Moore. We are certainly playing no different to the style (rubbish) under Crosby earlier in the season. Granted it is the same bunch of players with limited skill and no grit but I am not seeing any real football being played. I don't class our back four playing inept dot to dot passes to themselves as football. It's as though every manager we employ has the same instruction guide.

  5. If you were manager with a 3 day turn around would you prioritise Peterborough away or Exeter at home?
I'd prioritise the next game whoever that was against. We can't afford to just roll over and give 3 points away. If I went in to work and said to my boss, sorry I'm just drifting through today because I'm going to give it everything next week I don't think I'd be there long

  6. Let's go through that 11 tonight

I'll discount Ripley, Smith and Garrity as they are the only players I would start with each week

Lowe - not league 1 standard
    Iacovetti - likewise
    Grant - career over
    Walters - non league
    Massey - nothing player
    Plant - not a defender
    Ojo - has given up
Loft - National league at best

    Subs
Chissy - not league 1 standard
    Dipepa - not ready yet
    Uche - immobile
    Shorrock - not ready yet

What a depressing line up, seriously would struggle in league 2

Although no world beaters Debrah or Lopata have got to start before Lowe in a back 3

Terrible loans in January, Gore, Mighten, Weir, Williams. Why did we bother with any of these

    It's all a bit depressing

  7. Not that it would have that great of a shock to go there and win today based on their league position but we just don't do shock wins. So, so predictable. Ponderous football with no flair and a mistake in us every game. Forward line that statistically must be the worst in all 4 divisions. I'm writing off the Bolton and Peterborough games so need 10 points as a minimum. It's not happening folks

  8. Ainsworth: - If you want boring hoof and run, , cheating and clogging football.
Would you prefer to continue watching the current tripe being served up? I for one am fed up with our comical attempts to play out from the back, pointless passing around the midfield and complete lack of passion and effort. Not sure Ainsworth is the answer but we certainly have got to try something different that gets the crowd going

  9. Don't think I can keep putting myself through this boring, passionless rubbish every week. Just want to watch a team that cares and come home from a game feeling proud of my team. My desire to buy a season ticket is diminishing with every game. Something is seriously wrong with the club. Alas Smith and Jones, how appropriate. Another deflating Saturday

  10. We don’t know what the club have offered wage wise, if the numbers being mentioned on here are true then some of our players are on a damn good screw.  If we look at other teams in this league it’s hard to believe we can’t compete wage wise.  Anyway, it’s how the budget is spent that’s the issue, most obviously we’ve had enough money to pay off and replace 2 managers and numerous staff, not just coaching staff but the likes of Garlick, Speed and Co. who will all have received remuneration packages.  On the surface it looks like we’re extremely wasteful with whatever money we have available for wages.
We are definitely fishing in the shallow end of the pool but I agree we don't know exactly what is being offered. All I know is that the strikers that make the better money are not falling over themselves to sign for us

  11. I doubt any of those strikers were coming for what we are prepared to pay, which is the biggest factor in our poor player recruitment this year.
Spot on, the main reason for our terrible recruitment is the wages offered. I have no issue if that is the case but I wish someone would come out and say it. Stadium costs and pitch improvements must be crippling. Apart from a brief period under Rudgey with Bill Bell loosening the purse strings we have never paid the going rate. Certainly don't want us to overspend and hit a financial wall but just be truthful

  12. I never understand this. Bring out one of our quicker players to the halfway Line and they will bring out two. So with their keeper back, a guy taking the corner and two marking our speed merchant they will only have 7 In our box instead of 9.  Does that make sense or am I being daft?
The same coaching numpties that think taking a goal kick with 2 defenders in your own 6 yard box makes sense
