  1. I like football too much to waste my time getting a season ticket to watch this bunch of losers next season. Carol seems to have spent too much time trying to change the identity of PVFC. We've got 150 years of history that has shaped our identity. I don't recognise my club anymore. Port Vale have none of the none negotiable qualities I expect from the club I've supported for 35 years.
  2. Absolutely. Start a campaign suggesting that supporters don't renew their season tickets, buy the new shirt, buy event tickets etc until Flickers is gone. Set up a picket line around the club shop and ticket office to put off potential scabs. This is OUR club Carol. We'll get our way because Port Vale is the fans. No fans, no club. Listen to the room and do the right thing.
  3. Some players are beyond my support right now. Minimum expectations are not being met. Certain players need to step up and be leaders on the pitch. I see no encouragement or support within between the players on the pitch at the moment, just petulance and a complete disregard for what makes a team. How can they expect the fans to go above a beyond? Every match recently the fans have started the game by offering the benefit of the doubt and get behind the lads. By the end the abject failings on the pitch result in disgruntled reactions from the stands. Give us some something to shout positively about!
  4. This has a 0-0 written all over it, however the fact that we concede so easily against the long straight ball I would not put it past Shrewsbury nicking it if our game at their place earlier in the season is anything to go by.
  5. I can't understand how he's been brought back in as a centre midfielder. It was obvious after 10 minutes of the game against Fleetwood in the League Cup in August that he can't play that position anymore. If we're not playing out from the centrebacks anymore then he hasn't got a place in the matchday squad, let alone as a replacement for Ojo. That's on Moore for me. I'd rather see Sang in centre mid than Lowe.
  6. I'd agree with that. Arblaster will play in the Prem this season. He was a smokescreen to quite how bad the majority of the rest of the squad are. Arblaster was unreplaceable but we didn't even try.
  7. Imagine if they got another 3 points due to a mass pitch invasion before the end of the season? Might be worth Carol putting on 10 free coaches from VP to one of their home games in March....
  8. Didn't he score a goal the other day? That's more than can be said for our so called forwards. No point making Smith the scapegoat. I think the direction the club have gone in terms of our "club DNA" the past 12 months has not helped his game. Playing with a different set of defenders every game probably doesn't help either. Continuity helps defenders. We've had none of that this season. His performances have been poor more often than not this season, but he's not been helped by the players around him. I think that he could prove a valuable asset in avoiding relegation out of the football league next season.
  9. We're doomed. No man could turn this ship around with the resources that have been left. Relegation was assured on the 1st February. Has any other football club got so few strikers as us? The FIRST job, yes the VERY FIRST JOB of any owner of a sports club is to ensure you have the personnel to play the sport you're supposed to be playing. We can't say as a football club that we have that at the moment. 3 transfer windows without bolstering the squad with attackers is nothing less than pathetic.
  10. Bed time I think. Going to be really frustrating to watch Mighten beating 2 players then crossing it in to where a striker would be if we had any. I suppose we could put Massey up front.
  11. No surprise on the tackles won or interception statistics. We don't tackle, don't intercept therefore don't have possession at points in the game when the opposition isn't set. Our goals during our winning run were almost all a result of winning the ball and punishing an out of shape opposition. Unfortunately this element of the game does not seem to be part of our "DNA" unless this changes we will continue to sleepwalk towards league 2. Top teams put in maximum effort when they haven't got the ball regardless of territory. We seem completely content to play zonally out of possession which is getting us nowhere when it comes to the final result.
  12. I think that the only positive from the game was Jack Shorrocks cameo at the end. He proved himself to have progressed massively since the Crewe League cup game in the Blackpool win and showed he's got the Xfactor. I'd like to see him start our next home match, if not at Fleetwood.
  13. I hope not. He's simply too slow following his nasty injury. Rather see Sang in there currently, until Ojo is fit whilst the likes of Gore gets upto speed playing mens football.
  14. I stand by my opinion that Crosby's lack of touchline nous has cost us about 10 points this season. In game decision making has been appalling at times from what I've seen. It's the side of management I feel he has to work on the most, as a coach in his first full season as the top dog between 3pm and 5pm.
  15. Out of the relegation zone on "points deducted. Carlisle have won 4 games this season. One was against us. Cheltenham 6, one against us. We've got 14 points in 19 games. Absolutely sleepwalking towards league 2 as it stands. Lose next Saturday and Crosby has to go. He should have been sacked after Boxing Day to give us a chance during January.
  16. Dream team up front. Not many strike pairings score 42 goals combined in a single season. I'd like to think that Foyle combining those two was through vision and not a mad fluke.
  17. McPhee couldn't hit a barn door the season before he was prolific for us. Not many strikers are consistent for more than a few seasons. Look at Pope. I was laughed off Portvaleonline when I suggested he could replace Marc Richards in the goal scoring charts. The rest is history. Constantines prolific spell came out of nothing too. Mills was part of a golden age for Vale, especially when it came to strikers. He'll be remembered fondly by me at least during those dizzy days in the mid-90s. Nit picking over individual qualities seems daft when most of what I can remember from the Mills, Foyle and Naylor era were goals, goals, goals!
  18. I saw Mills and Naylor playing golf together up at Whiston a few years after they'd both finished playing for Vale. At least he took that friendship away from his time at Vale.
  19. Not on the pitch. That's a criminal offence.
  20. Who was the other Dutch lad who signed at the same time as Van Der Laan. The saga surrounding Marcus Bent is one many would probably like to forget. Turned up the day before Rudge got sacked. Played on the wing by Horton. Sold for peanuts by Vale, then sold for millions 12 months later by Sheffield United. Dave Artell anyone?
