Have they asked you to go in next week to coach the strikers?
He is the striker!

Dreaming of Zak mills and David Fitzpatrick down the right and left and Reggie up top. A little bit of Michael tongue in the middle and we’re sorted
There must be some medication you can take for that.
(If not, try you choice of alcohol.)

Posted the other day. I had a peep at teams remaining fixtures.
We have 3 guaranteed defeats Posh, Bolton, Derby . Leaves us needing to win 6 of 13.
Cheltenham have played Pompey ,Derby and Bolton twice already. Very favourable fixtures and a team giving their all.
Our demise since Northampton at home on September 16th has been shameful. Again. Two seasons running we've had hideous runs.
One person to blame for me. The owner.
No such thing as a guaranteed defeat (or a guaranteed win).

Ripley
Sang Debrah Lopata Grant
Ojo Weir
Chislett Wilson Mighten
Loft
Garrity, Gore, and Clark slot straight into that team when fit.
We concede 3 goals when starting with 3 defenders. You intend to improve our defence by playing only 2 defenders!
(Sang and Grant couldn't tackle a bag of cement, or win a header against it or stop a cross...)

It is all a lot worse when you consider that two of our best players last season Worrall and Pett were considered surplus to requirements this season. Now I wasn't at the match today, those that were there today, could you tell me if Pett was worse than any of our players. Now I'm not knocking Massey but can any one honestly say he is a better option at wingback than Worrall. So it is not just a failure to bring in decent players, he has messed up letting the wrong ones go.
Worrall wasn't "considered surplus to requirements". He was offered a new contract, which he turned down.

Lopata is injured isn’t he? And gore I thought was out for another week or two 🤷♂️
Manager says Lopata (and Loft) are good to go.

I think it might be an idea to consider starting the next game with more than 2 defenders.

We've replaced the four loanees. Er, that's it.
No movement on striker or wing back front that Flitcroft stated as priorities. No replacement for Ikpeazu or any of the other long term injured.
Will take time for new players to settle in, even though the last two have more experience. Will they be any good? So worse off in the short term at least.

I think that the only positive from the game was Jack Shorrocks cameo at the end. He proved himself to have progressed massively since the Crewe League cup game in the Blackpool win and showed he's got the Xfactor. I'd like to see him start our next home match, if not at Fleetwood.
Out if interest, where would you like to see Shorrock? In Grant's position, or in front of him, with Grant in a back four again?
(Bearing in mind that a back four from the start may be against our DNA.)

The BBC is saying the game will be replayed on a midweek date.

Play the remaining 73 minutes
Would have to be more than that. A fair amount of the first 16 mins was stoppages to pick up tennis balls.

Already had a goal cancelled out for the Yak. Commentators said it was not off side.
Come on Vale.
On iplayer it looked like we had 3 players goal side of the defensive line when the free kick was taken.

Do not think AC will get the chop this season tbh. League position, injuries and the odd excellent performance will save him if L1 status is preserved.
i do think it’s been a long hard learning curve for AC but he seems to have the backing of the players. I do think he will be a good manager as and previously said he seems to be a good man manager.
Lets all hope and good transfer window and a less injury free second half of the season we climb the league.

I haven't got any balance but I'm afraid Crosby is not a football league manager.
96 posts and about 90 of them have said just this. Put another record on.

If you don't care, why bother looking at this thread. A bit strange that
It's not complicated.
One comment in a 40 page thread. One sentence in a book. One grain of rice in a curry.
I still want to read books and eat curries.

I don't understand all this "we're playing crap, I'm not going any more" stuff.
As an active supporter since the 1-0 win against Mansfield in 1963 I've always felt that when we're struggling I should make extra effort to go to provide support. That's what supporters do. What support does staying away provide?
BTW we're not playing crap, but we are inconsistent.
I'd like nothing more than for Crosby to be in charge for the next 10 years or more, because that would mean we've been successful.

Kinda figured that if Clarke Harris is £800k and he was last season's golden boot, that garritty wouldn't be worth more than that.
I agree with you though in that it'd be really hard to replace garritty. You don't get many midfielders that score as much and are as good as ratting. It's normally the tricky winger or attacking flair centre mids that get the most goals. Garritty kind of has a lampard ability to arrive in the box, but with cult hero levels of work ethic.
Robbie Earle? (Maybe Ian Taylor)

But hadn't we made all our substituions by that time Yak 1st half, Massey & Grant at HT, Balmer for Ben and Dipepa for Wilson?
I know - see edit above.
Sorry, mis-read your post. Ignore this.

Devine was injured but Crosby kept him on, he could barely move at the end
When Garrity went off, presumably injured, we'd used all our subs so couldn't replace Devine.
(And yes, I know Devine was injured before Garrity went off.)

Devine, thanks for spelling Dipepa correctly. Or have you spelled Devine disastrously wrong?
Anyway, welcome back.
