I like Leon Legge as a bloke but he has no experience outside of playing, and he hardly covered himself in glory with his tweets during the pandemic. He’s free to have his opinion but I’m not sure that’s somebody I’d personally want as the most senior footballing person at the club.
Foyle, on the other hand, is a great shout and I suspect he’s Carol’s number 1 target with him being at the game yesterday. It might take a bit of convincing to pull him away from SPL and St Mirren if he’s settled there. But a promotion from Head of Recruitment to Director of Football might be enough to pique his interest.
Whoever comes in should have less power than DF seemed to have. I’d even argue they should be on the same seniority level as the manager, despite the “director” title.
I don’t know what we were doing before but the most logical solution to me is:
- Manager focuses on man management, coaching and tactics (i.e. the next game)
- DoF focuses on infrastructure and long-term strategy
- And recruitment sits between them with both parties having a veto of any signings suggested by the other/Head of Recruitment

To be fair he had ducking good reason to bad mouth him. 1 performance doesn’t make up for a whole season! Or has this season of his performances been acceptable?
Loft has had a pretty dismal season but it’s not been down to a lack of effort. That’s why a lot of the criticism has been harsh and unnecessary, including the comments on Thursday.

I find it fascinating that we’ve waited 5 games! Yes 5 games… to actually have a coaching team employed, smells to me like ineptitude?
I think they’ve been working but contracts had only just been finalised.

Get Gareth Ainsworth in with Lion Legg as defensive coach as he only lives in Bidulph and get rid of Dun and Flitcroft

If Vale have potential Good Young players, they should keep them for Vale Fans to enjoy in the future, then sell them for a Better price, Or keep them to get Promotion ? - I believe the Club Has Sold Two Good Young players recently (Sadly ) , to Newcastle Utd ? and Aston Villa ? - Why ?
I’m not 100% sure of the ins-and-outs but I don’t think they’re “our” players as such because they’re too young to sign pro contracts.
I think the fee we get is more of a compensation than a transfer fee and we don’t really get that much of a say in the matter. All we can do is also offer a pro contract and hope they choose to stick with us which is unlikely when up against the likes of Villa and Newcastle.

Is there anywhere in their blurb to say where they get their figures from?
Salary Sport explain here but pinches of salt necessary, as always

I can’t speak to the veracity of “Salary Sport” but saw this on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter and found it interesting.
I’d have guessed our budget was around 14th-17th in the league…

Is the game available to watch on I Follow?
For abroad viewers only so you’d need to use a VPN to watch in the UK. I hear Proton is a good free option.

I wouldn’t play Sang as during the Wigan match their right winger mcmanaman was all over him and was the reason for their goal and personally I just don’t rate him but play Conlon if Ochoa can’t play
Feels a bit harsh on Sang, this. He has been one of our best players during this bad spell and only taken a recent downturn in form after Crosby inexplicably dropped him.

Correct the only way you be able watch is to go the game .
Last round I was poorly so couldn't go the home game v Burton was horrible looking at sporting live updates ,as do not listen to radio as they usually not telling folk the real state of the game ,they usually putting Vale down at every opportunity maybe not deliberately but seems it to me .
Although they are knowledgeable if you listened to radio and they saying we playing like a academy team then folk may take notice of that and not bother turning up,or they saying this is poor etc etc so if I was you or anyone else go game make your own judgement if in a position to do so .
UTV
Unfortunately I live out of the area so Tuesday games are a no-go for me. Other than special occasions like the QF against Boro, for which I’m having to use 2 days of annual leave. The sacrifices we make, hey?!

Am I right to assume FA Cup replays are also excluded from iFollow coverage?

A couple of scousers paid for my then 12 year old dad, to go in to the Vale end, as he was sat on a wall trying to watch the game. (His folks couldn’t afford for him to go)No no - please stick to the party line. From now on, the scousers pickpocketed your dad while handing him fake money for his ticket. He got rumbled at the turnstile and spent the next 5 years in and out of young offenders institutions. Scousers, eh?!

There’s a lot of talk of Loft’s bottom in this thread. Not a complaint; just an observation.
